playboy Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 Hi ive just bought an r reg vw sharan and the central locking does not work there is no sound when you turn the key it doesnt even attept to open but all the doors open and lock by key ive checked the fuses non seem to be blown and i dont have the tool to get the door cards off to have a look also the fag lighter does not work dont know if there linked in some way.The inside of the car is dry no leaks so i ruled out electrical short due to water any help would be appreciated as im stumped thanks charles. MadBaz Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 If it's a mk1 the fuse for c/l is above and to the left of the relay board I think it's number 55 35amp.You could have broken wire syndrome (driver door and/or tailgate) in the gaiters. Quote

gregers Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 try ebay or im sure you can fit an after market central locking kit(again from ebay)im sure it has been mentioned on this forum somewhere,do a search on central locking,it might take a while to trawl through them all but im sure you will find the answers there,hth.
