What Heater Have I Got In Rear Of Car

hi all

my sharan 1.9tdi is getting its top end done but i noticed that the rear heater looked different to my galaxy one tho all controls the same in car, its got air con manual control. seems as tho theres a long ally looking pipe coming off it so would this be the infamous heater thats on here always causing grief with glow plugs. also bit daft question as theres not one mention of this in handbook. if its the deisel htr i summize that it takes its supply from main tank but how much fuel does it use ie: litres per hour.

my old gal had normal pipes running from engine cooling system and i cant get to the car to check out what ive got. being thinking about this for a few days having read all the posts on here about them

You should have a D3W heater. It does not really use much fuel, I do have the exact figures somewhere, I will look them out.
