MadBaz Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 DLA is Disability Living Allowance, its a get out clause for some people who don't want to work and can't be arsed signing on, for the majority though its a much needed income for the difficulties they face with their disabilities. Quote
gregers Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 we applied for dla for my youngest,he was born with club feet(bi lateral tali pies)we are not entitled to it at all, they told us to reapply when he is 5,we had to fight tooth and nail to obtain a disabled badge for him because of all the hospital appointments he had to have,p****s me off when you hear someone with a splinter getting it,talk about abusing the system!!!!! adrianf. Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 (edited) Its always the way.Like a lot of things with this country the needy seem to go without. A few years ago my parents next door neighbour was on invalidity benifit and made no secret of it.He would drive up to the doctors and park his car in the disabled space and then struggle into the docs on TWO walking sticks. He would then drive back home, drag his caravan up to the back of his car by hand and sod off in it for a nice holiday. Beggers belief dont it. Adrian. Edited October 30, 2007 by adrianf Quote
