rbuzza Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 (edited) Hi, has anyone else experienced a slow petrol filling? Ford Galaxy GLX 2.3l DOHC, 1998 - R Edited July 4, 2007 by rbuzza Quote
Guest wolfie Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 it's a fairly common problem! there is a breather pipe in a few cases that is kinked or restricted slightly due it's routing! it's been mentioned a few times before! I find that rotating the filler nozzle in the filler pipe helps! inserting the nozzle so that the hose points toward the top of the rear hatch allows me to pump fuel at the max speed of the pump! Jim52V6 Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 Perhaps its worth determining if it is at the same filling station or all stations? Many years ago when I worked on a project implementing computer systems at petrol filling stations we had issues at certain stations and the result was at busy stations such as Motorway Service, the fuel flow is quicker to enable a faster fill. This can obviously result in the nozzle getting blow back and the pump cutting out more often. As previously mentioned slightly rotating the nozzle can help. Quote
MadBaz Posted July 7, 2007 Report Posted July 7, 2007 I know your talking about volume but as regards price...I remember many years ago filling up my stepfathers coaches at the local Esso, at less than Quote

katman Posted July 8, 2007 Report Posted July 8, 2007 (edited) I remember many years ago filling up at the local Esso I really miss all them tiger tokens and glasses :D Do you still have any Esso garages left ??? I always used to use Esso. we had 8 Esso Garages within 10 miles but now we have none. 2 are Total, 1 is Jet, 5 have been demolished. In addition, another 4 or 5 garages of different brands have also been demolished. It seems the supermarkets have driven most of them out of business :D Edited July 8, 2007 by katman Quote
