Neils TDi again Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Have had exactly the same problem it is the wiring in the door post, the "deadlock" is activated and unable to de-activate. A broken wire is preventing the lock being energised to release, using a wiring digram you should be able to "jump" power to the lock module and release the door then do a pucker repair as in the FAQs at the beginning of the tech section. Dave-G Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Also had that problem, but being less intelligent than Neil I took advice from somewhere and demolished the plastic section of the mechanism with a cordless drill. When it was off I was able to access the lever that opens the door. The lock is then accessed by the rear end of the open door to replace the motorised section - about Quote
SwFsnapper Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 You gotta love this forum... It just saved me a lot of bother. I also just had the same problem. One of my passenger doors locked but wouldn't unlock, even from the inside!! A potential death trap in an accident. I took the door card off (with the door closed, no easy task) to try and manually activate the lock with no joy. It was jammed solid. Spent 10 mins on this forum and learnt about the damaged wires through the rubber loom boot. I gave that a good rub/massage, and tada, the door opened. As I had the door card off I took the loom out altogether and an inspection revealed that I have several broken wires and the condition the rest of the wire is very poor so I'm going to look into a complete replacment or a more major repair... will report back with a complete fix. SwFsnapper PS This is a top post... thanks Quote
