chicosi Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 I can't remember how I did mine, but I don't think you need to remove the fusebox. Black goes to earth Red, yellow, and yellow/black all go to live (I linked all three into one wire and tapped that into the main live as shown in Mussey1's picture) White goes to close trigger (grey wire on the connector circled in red in Mussey1's picture) White/black goes to open trigger (green/red wire on the connector circled in red in Mussey1's picture) I didn't connect the indicator wires and my indicators still flash on locking and unlocking You're right to be cautious but it's easy enough when you get going  Quote
7up Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 Update...I have taken the fuse-board forward now and can get my hand behind and can fit the module behind, Now what is the best way to connect the wires. Should i use the connectors that came with the kit or strip some of the plastic away from the wires and the connect there and cover with tape Quote
MadBaz Posted February 25, 2007 Author Report Posted February 25, 2007 I used the connecters that came with it, but you have to be sure the wires are located properly in them and the metal tab is pressed home firmly, I dont like the idea of 'wire wrapping' unless your going to solder the connection. Whichever way you do it just make sure everithing works b4 you put it all away. Quote
chicosi Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 I just removed some of the insulation on the existing wires, spliced on the new ones and put on a drop of solder to secure them (though I guess that isn't strictly necessary) and wrapped them in insulation tape. There's always scotchlocks, of course, if you have some Quote
7up Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 Cheers guys,I can solder the wires together but the wires look a bit thin near the connector Quote
7up Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Thanks guys, all fitted and working, couldn't have done it without your help Quote
chicosi Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Well done - good to hear it went ok :) Quote
7up Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 What bliss being able to open the doors again without using the key, what joy its only been 3 years or so Quote
MadBaz Posted February 27, 2007 Author Report Posted February 27, 2007 I hear what your saying 7up, School run only takes half the time now cos kids can get in car and belt up whilst I finish my first caffeine fix. Quote
Yunus Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Hi recieved and partialy fitted my KE60 keyless entry kit (Flip Key) from Rightclick today just a few differences I found to Madbaz's install the grey wire on mine is the lock and the green wire is the unlock thought i had mucked it up but then realised that there were a couple of yellow wires to connect up to the positive .The locking /unlocking works a treat just to connect up the tailgate release and the indicators and thats were iam stumped there doesent seem to be a third conector ( Its a 97 model )like the one in madbaz's install and not sure which wires are for the indicators .I tryed testing with a multimeter with the hazards on to see if i could get some sort of pulse indicating the right wire but nothing .Is there anyone that has a good wiring diagram that could point me in the write direction.......... Thanks Quote
MadBaz Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 (edited) Hi Yunas according to TIS the indicator wires on your car should be on multiplug (A),on pins 4 & 6 and should be coloured black/white and black/green respectively. The 3rd multiplug ( c ) should only be on pre 09/06 cars. Edited March 7, 2007 by MADBAZ Quote
Yunus Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 Thats what i thought as well Madbaz but just maged to blow the fuses to the remote unit then tried testing them all individualy with multimeter but none of showed to be for the indicators ......... So just ran a loom down to the rear indicators and spliced into them there now fully working.............next stage to get keys cut and transpoders for the remotes so i can just use the flip keys..... thanks for all the help Quote
connectms Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 DOH! never mind it gave me the opportunity to get another Patriots logo http://www.wsno1450.net/img/patriots.jpgin the page B)Hi Wolfie, is the central locking module similar in the alhambra, would like to change the factroy alarm and add something with total closure or comfort locking as they would say. Regards connectms Quote
Ant Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Hi sorry if this sound silly but can this unit be used still if the actual central locking control is not working ie doors dont lock when the key is used? Many Thanks if you can help as I would like to replace the central locking controller for this unit as its been water damaged! Quote
MadBaz Posted May 9, 2007 Author Report Posted May 9, 2007 It'll work even if turning key in lock doesn't work, assuming only the key barrel is faulty. It does not replace the central locking moduel though, if thats damaged then I assume a replacement will have to be sought. If its waterlogged, remove it and stick it on a radiator overnight, that works wonders for my phone when it been throgh a 40 deg wash (7 times now). Quote
Ant Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 Hi i have got my central locking controller working, after testing it the first time everything worked, but after connecting and bolting the unit back in now the boot realse is not working. I know that this can be turned on and off with the key but tried this and dont seem to be able to get it working although can contol other doors from boot. I found the wire in the back door piller and forced 12v on it and the motor works ok. I have brought a system from rightclick and fitted it ok but still the boot release is not working does the red/blue wire on the CLM connector go stright to the door motor or does it make the CLM open the boot? I have checked the fueses and none are gone unless the boot has a different fues somewhere. Does anyone know what wires on the CLM are for the boot handle switch and does the turning on and off of the boot motor work off the same switch in the barrel as the open close for the central locking? Any help? Many Thanks. Quote
bigmac161 Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 (edited) Hi guys thought id take the plunge and get one of these KE60W received it today so will give it ago at the weekend :14: Just a quick question ive read other posts where ppl have fitted this to the fuse box is this easier or should i go for the passenger seat ? its just is there enough room for the remote control box under the seat and does it not affect the signal and range being hid under the seat ? plus are the wires the same for me being a sharan GL 96 (N) eg: Red/white=Batt +Brown=EarthGrey=UnlockGreen=Lock I didn't go for a unit with global close, as I understand there are only a few expensive units which are able to close the windows/sunroof on a Galaxy. Update: these are available from the link above, The ke60 model works apparently So this unit should give me global close do i have to join any other wires for this or just the lock/unlock ? Many thanks and wish me luck  Edited November 14, 2007 by bigmac161 Quote
MadBaz Posted November 14, 2007 Author Report Posted November 14, 2007 Bigmac, The wires should be the same coloursAs your CLM should be under the seat then that may be easiest option, and the range should be ok, mine does about 30 metres. As for the global close, I don't know, I think somebody posted that their global worked on ke60 model.Have fun :14: Quote
bigmac161 Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 cheers madbaz will let u know how i get on  Quote
bigmac161 Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 right guys it seems i have a few more wires on my main unit It says in leaflet Red/black = To positive triggerPink = To negative triggerGreen = To negative power window output I assume these extra wires are for global closing but what wires at my CLM go to these ? Quote
MadBaz Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 The unlock/lock wires, un/lock the doors, but a prolonged signal on these wires activates the power window modules so I guess and I stress guess that these are your triggers, the Green wire I don't have a clue about, sorry. big_kev Posted November 15, 2007 Report Posted November 15, 2007 Are the remotes for these compatible with the existing systems or are they different frequencies ? Quote
MadBaz Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 The module I fitted added remote c/l to the existing manual operation and has its own frequencies/coding, as for working with existing/OE remote c/l there will be something on ebay, I guess, but not the model I or others have fitted.
