Morning Folks,

As I said before, totally new to the gal, and need a bit of assistance please.

1. As before, when first applying brakes, (after being stopped overnight etc) on gentle application, quite fierce

3. Red light on top of driver door (something to do with alarm?) comes on for short time, the goes off after a few minutes.(remote locking does not work, although light work on key)

first port of call here - I would check the wires in the rubber boot between the door and car the insulation breaking down and shorts - the wires become brittle and break

Motor running noise will be the coolant run-on pump, shuts off after about 15 mins. The idea is it keeps circulating the coolant after switching off to prevent hotspots.

Thanks Guys,

Off to Gibraltar at the weekend, (freebie flight, perks of working for an airline!) but will have a good look at all suggested areas when I return.

thanks again,

My opinions...

1. ABS problem - well documented on this forum.

2. I think this is the auxilliary coolant pump; they can get very noisy when they are about to expire. Again, well documented. However, when mine failed, I noticed it because it went quiet (had stopped). Easy to find under the bonnet.

Hope you enjoyed Gibraltar!

If the LED comes on for about 3 seconds when the ignition is turned on, this is normal. :D

If it lights continuosly for 1 minute then flashes, (PATS fault code, 10 times) then it needs plugging in to rds2000 at dealer. :D

If it flashes continuoously for 1 minute (then flashes some more (fault code)) you'll not be able to start the engine. :D
