  1. Well it was a lovely day today - not a lot happening so decided to do the linkage as my nearside wiper was all but stopped. I was fed up with having to operate the wiper control with "one tap" when it was nearly impossible to see through the rain but this was the only way to guarantee a complete cycle of the wipers. Anyhow job completed in about three hours. Must Mark the wipers in original position on the screen. Remove the air filter. Remove the expansion bottle and drop it lower into the engine bay. Take a photo before you try and get the spindles out of the whole mechanism saves having to work out correct operation later. Problems Spindles not moving at all and stuck solid. Ball joint (chrome dome - Black Plastic top) hard to pop out. Solutions I found worked Heat up the casing around the spindles using a blow torch - worked a treat (remove rubber grommets that hold the mounting bolts first) After couple of minutes of heat a couple of good whacks with the persuader and both spindles were on the move. Two large screwdrivers used to pop the ball joints using a scissoring motion. All back together now and also replaced the pollen filter at the same time. What a fantastic improvement! Can

  4. Had trouble with drivers door window going down - completed tests - bypassing door switch etc. Found that I never had a ground coming from the switch and door module. One of two things I thought connection at the window motor or broken wire within the rubber boot between door. Went for the latter and found the problem - A broken wire - horrah - spiced a new piece of cable and was very proud :( Now to my bit of trouble - cannot seem to get the male multi plug back onto the female A pillar connector  - is it push to make connection and turn or turn make connection and job done? Any help appreciated oioi
  5. OK here we go........ Had the same problem with wondow on drivers side not going down......found broken 2.5mm brown cable broken within rubber boot - easy so far, resoldered a splice and was very proud :( Now the bit i need advice on - I to had the A pillar female connector come loose and pop into the inside of the A pillar - sorted that bit .... trouble is I cant get the darned plug back onto the A pillar connector  is it a "push" - make connection then turn? or a turn make connection through its travel and job done? Any help appreciated with this... oioi
  6. Evaporator leak, Dash out 8 Hours, New evaporator, gased, now working a treat. Its beyond me that I had to take the dash out to get to a piece of "muck" metal. Sav.
  7. oh forgot to tell you all, I sorted this problem - if anyone has a leak let me know as I have done all the leak tests - to last a lifetime. Mine? A grommet that was just and I mean just, allowing rain water to pass through the bulk head along the rear washer pipe and into the footwell. (loads of water) You can just about reach it from inside the car.... SAV :D
  8. Thanks mate I didn't think of the wiper arms - must get out to do it - but it is not time to do it in this weather......... Happy new year to all...... SAV
  9. Thanks wiggy, Just got a sheet over it at the moment until I get time. Trouble is there is so many entery points for water to get in. I think that I will look the foam packing at the bottom of the windshield and the A pillar..... But it is hard to get the sound proofing (waterlogged) up out of the way which is underneath the carpet to see where it is getting in. Regards SAV

  17. Thinking about it chaps, I think I might get mine serviced before the nice two days of summer we normally have :-) Any ideas on price etc Shackers is the diagram you have from the TIS CD? if it isn't I would really like a copy i you wouldn't mind Regards :(
  18. Its not water its a GAS you would need to take the gas out under Vacum so that all the old gas is taken out checked for leake=s and replaced by new gas. To be honest you would be better getting it done by a professional. As for smell, this is a known problem you need to get a nice smelly can of something and spray it in the vents in the footwells that sould cure the problem for this summer at least. Regards :(
  19. its on the ford TIS CD as well if you care to e-mail me I will e-mail you back the templates Regards :(
  20. I have found as place in Highbury London that cuts the keys and programs the transponder - as you know, you do need at least two keys, to program a third - Crazy when you think about it. I have just one key for my V6, so need to get another key - But because I only have one cannot program another new cut key. Therefore I either have to buy two new ones and reprogram the car/keys or Pay the massive amount to FORD and get another key and let them program the key on their FDS 2000. What do you think? :(
