  2. Please help. Got a 96 Gal 2.8 Auto. Today as i was reversing the Gal wanted to keep on moving even when i put my foot on the brake. It was like the clutch wasnt disengaging!! Also happened when driving forward. Dont think its the ECU for the Auto box as i have only had this changed approx 6 months ago and it changes up and down ok. Ant ideas??
  3. Vinny, 3 months ago I had the same problem. I had to take it to VW and they changed the ECU for the gearbox. Problem solved however cost four hundred pounds to replace!! Jase.
  4. Door adjusted, fantastic. Cheers.
  5. Thanks for that, got to be worth a try!
  6. JIM ,I had a very similar problem to yours recently. At one point the rev counter failed to work and then the whole car was stuck in first gear. Turned out to be the ECU for the gearbox! Four hundred pounds later with new ECU and problem solved. Jase.
  7. Has anyone had a problem with any of the doors dropping and therefore not closing properly? I have just taken my Gal to a local mechanic and he says it could be about 3 hours work as the door pins are a nightmare to replace. Jase.
  8. Thanks, problem solved!! Jase
  9. Hello again. Got the auto box sorted out with a new ecu (Costly). I wondered if anybody knows where the fuses are for the 2 rear 12v points and the main cigarette lighter are. Both dont work. I've checked the normal fuses and all appear in order. In hope, Jase. :)
  10. My 98 Gal V^ Auto decided it wanted to stay in first gear. I was told by Ford that it had a VW engine and gearbox and to took it to VW to diagnose the problem. They said it was the auto box sensor and so fitted said sensor and in the process said they had to change to ATF fluid in order to do so (6 units of oil which cost me 54 pounds!!). Having been told it was now ok I oicked up my Gal which still had the fault. They then said it must be the ecu on the gearbox. HELP!
