hi all i have a 03 1.9tdi ghia 115bhp galaxy recently my galaxy is losing power whilst driving and i noticed smoke billowing from the underside of the car,at first thought had exhaust problem but noticed at rear of vehicle is a rectangular box with a pipe coming out of it which is billowing smoke (approx near rear wheel) any help please what is this box and its function and is it possible the maf would cause this problem cheers dave

another possibility is the alternater the wheel on the alty works as a clutch system and at low speeds causes the steering to be both notchy and noisy . you can replace the wheel on the alty for about

hi sounds like your brake pedal switch is faulty they cost about ten pounds from main dealer. thier are threads on site to take you through fitting and removal

:lol: electrical problems are a real pain ecus cause no end of problems go back in time to basic engines

has any one ever thought of fitting to rear hatch (like a landrover) would have to have metal frame fabricated ???????????????????????????????

hi any help out thier needed noticed engine was noisy checked engine and noticed black fuse box in engine melted replaced this and cleaned and crimped wires then noticed alternator was sparking, lead is okay and not chaffed in anyway. do i have an electrical problem or is it the alty and help appreciated .thanks in anticipation thanks dave

sat navs a waste of time by my reconing use a map its a lot cheaper and more fun

problems over the last 3 yrs (o2 ghia1.9tdi) windows regulator alty ,clutch/ ball joints wishbones track rods fuse box and now startibg problems waiting till march next year and changing to a new vito can be any worse or can iy

new system on mk2 is a waste of time give me the old system i had on mk1 anytime a lot easier and simpler and less troublesome

TRY THE MAIN DEALAR THIER NOT AS EXPENSIVE AS YOU MAY THINK AROUND 12 QUID FOR A SINLE CHEERS DAVE

possibly idle /air sensor if ur car is hunting erractically wont be leads as car would hunt at higher speeds get a tech 2 test done regards dave
