  1. Hi there, I need to do my timing belt and having read your post I guess I'll do it before I use it any more! Had the flashing glow plug problem too, now sorted. And to think I wanted an Espace to begin with.... Galaxy is way better!
  2. Cool, that made me chuckle, Maximus Prime, what were the other lot called? I used to love em, now my 8 year old is into them, how time flys eh?!
  3. I wanted a new shape one and nearly bought a 2001 Alhambra TDI SE, it was a really good spec but the Ford dealer was a lying scumbag, they didn't know how much power it made & I overheard one of them say "tell the customer whatever as he wont know the difference", cheeky gits. So I bought a private 1999 Galaxy TDI GhiaX for less than half the price! Well chuffed!
  4. Hi All! I'm the proud owner of a 1999 Galaxy GhiaX TDI. The owner told me it's a 110BHJP model but the insurance database seems to think its only a 90BHP... I've looked on Parkers and that seems to indicate the GhiaX only comes as a 110BHP, any ideas? Anyway, I've sorted the dickie relay for the engine electronics and glow plugs etc. next is a full service including cam belt and a good valet. I'll be posting on here lots I think as we've got a caravan, 3 kids and the Galaxy is just what we were looking for. As far as I've read Galaxy's make excellent tow cars, and if mine really is a 110 BHP model it should tow well. I'm thinking about getting a tuning box from www.tdi-tuning.co.uk so I'll be sure to have a search on here to see what people reckon. Well impressed with the Galxy as it has 2 seats with built in child seats, really clever idea, don't know why they don't all have them. Hope that's a good enough intro... Cheers Maximus
  5. I've had the same problem, with a Galaxy I bought on Monday. When I'd finished the test drive I turned the car off and removed the key, imagine the owners face when the engine was still running! When this happened it helped me knock him down a bit as I thought it was just the fuel cut off solenoid. When I got it home it turned out that some cowboy mechanic had wired the solenoid to an ignition live with a scotch block, this did not solve the problem obviously! So I removed the wire and guess what.... the glow plugs would come on now and then as would the solenoid... So after some searching about on here I finally found the relay and resoldered the joints in it, and hey presto it seems to have sorted the problem, touch wood! Now for a new cambelt and full service, plus a good valet!
