  1. Your filter, not the one on the car..he.he And the regulator is the thing under the window, next to the pocket you keep all your maps.... :)
  2. Well people,it's back. Three days in the main dealers and they say it's a plate on the side of the gearbox that had a very slight leak from it. Anybody got any idea what they are talking about,it's now got a new gasket. Another strange thing,I said can I have a copy of the warranty claim for the rocker gasket they changed in November. That didn't go down well at all. Labour charge to Fords...time..2.70..
  3. Well here we go again, it's gone into Frauds this morning for the same fluid leak. I've told them to look at the pressure pipes coming from the air/con. I've told them i don't want it back until it's fixed, run it around the block, take it home for your dinner, leave it running all day,but FIX IT this time. On another point,I said service it while it's there...how much? Is it petrol or diesel...why The diesel is dearer...why First year
  4. Snap,so does mine. It's a clear fluid with an oily feel to it. Frauds said it was condensation off the air con, rubbish. It's going back in next week,so we will see what porkies they come up with this time. I presume when the warranty runs out they will find what it is and I will have to sell the house to pay for it.
  5. If people have nothing to do in August, why not try the Woodvale Show. It's on the air force base just outside Southport. It's a two day event,Sat & Sun 4&5th. There are model planes (and I mean big ones),old classic cars, buses, bikes, car boots, side shows and overnight camping. I don't work for them, it's just a good day out. ps...Clubs are welcome. Try the link, see what you think............ http://www.woodvale-rally.org.uk
  6. Hi Amanda... just go to the technical section and type in wipers. You will then join all the other members with the same problem. Welcome to the Galaxy wipers club.
  7. This is just a word of warning to anybody thinking of going to a phone shop and getting a hands free kit fitted. I went to my local car phone shop, they took a look at the Galaxy and said "no problem". It was fitted a few days later and worked well,I liked the way it cut off the music and the voice came out of all the front speakers. So off we went to York for a night out and stayed over night in a pub. Then the fun started. Went to start the car,FLAT BATTERY, R.A.C came out and jump started it and could find no fault. Three days later,FLAT BATTERY, R.A.C. came out,it's a duff battery. Took it to Fords, nothing wrong with battery, you must have left some light on,(like I'm stupid). Four days later,FLAT BATTERY,that was enough for me.So tested it with my amp meter and something was eating my battery. I went back to the phone shop and told him what I had found,"ah it's the modulator",the gizmo that turns turns the music off when the phones on. A new one was fitted and guess what, four days later,a FLAT BATTERY,the speakers are on all night. So back to the shop, this time the boss comes out, ahhh it's got a sat/nav fitted, like the first guy must have been blind when he took it out to fit the wiring. It's got a VW wiring system in that car because of the sat/nav and we put in the Ford one, thick git. So beware if you are thinking of fitting a phone kit and you have factory fitted sat/nav. That was 12 months ago and all still works well.
  8. 50 quid iiiii do I get a full sevice as well for that. You don't work for Frauds by any chance. I'm looking for a plastic sticker, not a plastic Mac to cover the car.
  9. How can I get my hands one one. It's due in for service soon and it's still got it's oil leak. This time it is engine oil, they replaced the rocker gasket two months ago under warranty, maybe if they see this sticker they might do it right this time.
  10. Do you have things like bumper or window stickers,(I know they are a bit naff). But I would like to see the face of a mechanic in Frauds when he's got his grubby hands on your pride and joy, knowing the following day, his oily hands on the paint work, dirt on the seats and steering wheel, will be all over this web site. Fear might even knock a few bob off the bill, dream on!!!
  11. If you are going to tax your car,do it on line. As soon as you put in your reg number big brother knows all your details
  12. With I could mate, how many people are in this area. I've already sold my soul to Arriva and I'm the union H/Safety officer. Why are you packing in ? There must be some office type who only works Mon to Fri,with plenty of time on their hands, who could fill your boots... :o
  13. Hi mumof4, you still never answered me. Is there anything going on in the north west. Do any members go to things like the Southport Air Show in Woodvale. It's a good day out, loads of classic cars, buses, bikes, car boot stuff and jumble. You might even pick up some decent wheels for the old Gal. Bye the way,the name is Frank, the big wheel is from driving buses, (somebody has got to do it) :o
  14. Good answer,Raymac, but it's clear, like coolant not black like engine oil. I pesume it will develop into something just in time for the warranty to run out. I bought it because it is a VW in Ford clothes,so let's hope it doesn't turn into a Ford...Fix..Often and Repair Daily......sorry Ford lovers.
  15. I love these replies, but if it's condensation, why is it oily and not pure water. It never evaporates,it's as if it's water with an additive in and just gets bigger. Also, how come I get condensation in the middle of winter, summer yes. I was also reading about the heater booster, very funny replies. So I thought I would see if mine was working and it does. But why does the little exhaust pipe blow right onto the silencer box. It's got a big black patch on the box,is this Fords new idea for keeping the silencer nice and warm, very strange !!!
  16. Hi, I've only just joined this forum,so it's all new to me. I live in Merseyside and I am wondering what goes on in the North West. Do you have any local meetings, outings,Christmas booze ups, anything.
  17. I've just finished work and seen your reply, thank you. I keep checking the fuids and nothing seems to be going down,so I will presume it is the air con. The only problem is "her in doors". we have only just had the drive done and this ugly pool of fluid sit right outside the front door for somebody to slide on their a****e. Am I the only one that this happens too and do I have to put a drip tray under it for the rest of it's life. Well done Ford.
  18. Hi, I'm a new member. It took me ages to find like minded people who like the Galaxy. I bought mine two years ago and touch wood it's still going strong. It was a mid life crisis, I've had loads of cars, the best being a VW Passat. My wife was learning to drive and said "I'm not driving that big thing when I pass my test",so it went, boo hoo. I then got a Focus 1.8 ghia, with a shoe box of a boot. The end of this tail is,she failed her test and never drove again, which left me with the shoe box. I was how on the hunt for my car,"a Galaxy". I could not afford a brand new one,but a couple of years old was in reach. Then a dealer friend told me of one he spotted in Fords,a demo. A 1.9 tdi ghia auto, with all the toys,sat/nav,heated seats, climate control, swivel front seats and even chrome roof rails. The best was 500 miles on the clock and even better
