  1. i cut the insulation to remove it and dry out. i could not find the leak had a new windscreen fitted and checked scuttles, in the end i drilled a few holes to drain the water out as it filled and put everything back. at least then it did not get soaking wet.
  2. car is up for sale......
  3. it sounds like the fault i had on my mk1, relay 30? needs replacing.
  4. had to repair a broken wire myself. new loom was too expensive i think about £150
  5. just seen the comment about the plastic trim over the wiper blades where it pushes into the clips in the body work. this is the last resort for my leak as the windscreen was replaced a few months ago. so later i will seal the body work were the plugs for this trim fits.
  6. water is coming in between the floor pan skins where the spot welded raised central section is. i had drilled this to let the water out before and this is wet again. i will try to see where it is getting in from outside when it rains.
  7. I got a new un programmed pat key cut from a digital photograph from :carkeyhelp.co.uk arrived today. they supply the key number for future reference. you do need two keys to programme this one but it worked great with no problems. cost
  8. it's the drivers side.
  9. still getting wet.....
  10. all cleaned now, just a little mud and crap in the lower sill of the wings. no plastic fittings in the scuttle drains though. floor is moist but not wet so maybe residue from somewhere?
  11. I agree with that explanation. so the next step is to clean behind the inner wheel covers next.
  12. well, today I removed the wiper assembly and cleaned out the scuttle drain area of leaves and muck. the area was very wet, but the drains seemed ok. I have not had any more water into the car since my last post, but it seemed a good idea to clean anyway. if you do this, then get a new pollen filter to replace while you have easy access. I think I shall leave the floor insulation out of the car until I am happy that no more water is coming in.
  13. my water leak is from the floor panel, I drilled a hole into it and got more water......not sure where it is getting in though.
  14. i too have got this problem, hose on the scuttle drains runs out fine, hose on the door and roof does not enter the car. i have removed carpet and insulation and have been checking the floor for any water trails.the only place i can see water is a weeping puddle in the bottom spot weld of the raised beam from under the pedals to the middle of the floor pan. if this is the cause then maybe its water coming up from the road? now the car is dry my windscreen no longer is dripping wet every time i get into the car. i think that once it has stopped weeping i will try to seal it with car body filler.
  15. my key fob has two batterys, seperated by a thin plate so looks like only one. check if yours has two as well?
