  12. Well, am afraid the cat would starve. :D It would much prefer to be snuggled up in front of the fire instead of being sent on some wild mouse chase in a cold car. ....... Silicone dash shine is likely to make the scratches less obvious for a while and remove the dust for a time but would be surprised if it is that good that it can seep through the nooks and crannies then target the source which am hoping isn't something like bushes........... :D  spray it up under dash the silicone does lubricate, but granted , will not solve the problem , but may help locate, they are normally arond the steering column

  16. Yes theres no power u even disconect it from the loom and the car keeps running?now i got another problem a diesel leak ever since i fitted the solinoid?but think its coming from a pipe somewhere but havin trouble gettin the metal housing off!! :P i think your problem will be from the ignition switch, it sounds like someones bypassed an immoboliser, i would of thought if you had no feed to the fuel shut off, it wouldnt run at all, when you return the key to off it cuts the feed and shuts the fuel off, could be wrong tho :( :o i'd get an auto elec on it Yeah you have to turn ignition on so lights are on then press switch to start it,as soo as ignitionb is turned off the car wont run so think ignition is ok? so if i have this right :blink:you have fitted a new fuel cut off soloniod, you cannot switch off the car at ignition :) which would indicate a permanant live to the shut off soloniod instead off a switched live, follow the wires at the back off ignition to see if you can find a splice , you may then be able to correct it from there, its just difficult from here to see whats been messed with
  17. Cheers Gooner, got a spare and a jack from the main dealers for a couple of hours yesterday. Went back to test centre..........tester guy looked in the back window at spare and informed me "that was fine"........... :( Cant wait to hear the uk cabbies read on this saga! so you now have to keep this with you ? rolling around in the back

  21. i got in no probs
  22. if hes run a new wire from the starter to the switch, just take that wire to the crank position on the ignition, if the faults with the ignition switch itself just get one from a breakers yard, no piont in adding to the bodge
