  1. Hi, Does the engine turn over or move... Have you tried to put it in gear and push the car to see if the engine turns over (might want to take the spark plugs out and you will be able to pull it around easy from the front of the car)?.. It sounds like your engine has seized.the grinding sound could be the fact of the starter is turning but your engine isnt
  2. Hi .. Ok update time... i have had the fault codes looked at..it came back with the gear position sensor(gearbox range sensor) on the fault code...i have since changed the sensor and had the fault code cleared and it works fine in p,r,n as in it does all it should..then put it in d and nothing engine just rev's but nothing put it in a 1,2 or 3 the gearbox goes into safe mode...checked the cables all fine.. soooooooo im still looking for ideas :) cheers Gary
  3. In the aux fuse box under the bonnet..there is a 30amp fuse not the big ones the little one at the front of the box could somebody please tell me what this goes to as i have found the 2 cables cut that comes from this fuse....and i cant find the other ends Cheers 2.0i 1996 auto
  4. High emmisons tend to be lamba or cat gone.....When some of my cars have failed i put some super unleaded as it has an higher octaine its burns cleaner just make sure you give it a nice run before you take it in
  5. Hi again... Im still playing with the galaxy trying to sort the auto box limp home mode...but i have i just found out that i can start the car in ANY gear could it be the gear position sensor that has gone???...If soo where about is it??.. :rolleyes: Cheers Gary
  6. Hi, I have just brought a 1996 galaxy 2.0 auto...now the gearbox is in get home mode...i.e in 3rd i can get 1st if i pull it down on the gear leaver and n,r without any probs.. I have checked the cables and they look fine.. Could there be anything else i sould be looking for ive seen somewhere that the maf sensor can cause probs with the box?? i need all the help i can..lol... Also just a quickie dont know if it has anything to do with the problem..but i can pull it down out of park without my foot on the brake but the brake lights work fine..i cant hear the click that tends to go with the foot on the brake..
