  1. Hi all, I own a 2002 Galaxy with the 2.3 petrol engine. Aside from a few annoyances it keeps plodding on, however I have possibly reached a point of no return….the plastic thermostat housing (on the side of the engine - the one that doesn’t actually have a thermostat in it!!!) was leaking so I removed it, cleaned the surface corrosion and reinstated using a thin layer of instant gasket…however, on retightening the fixings the plastic body cracked. To cut a long story short, before I send the car to the scrap yard, does anyone know if there are any thermostat housings (generic or from other vehicles) that would fit this engine? I have tried Ford and various other motor factors / sources for the genuine part (1203886) but have been advised that it became obsolete many years ago. Any help/thoughts gratefully received! cheers, Mark
