Just fitted a new brake light pedal switch (

Last week the diesel/engine management light was flashing, the last time it did this I had a brake bulb out so I xhexked this but all the bulbs were OK. I checked the brake light pedal switch wis located on the brake pedal and still nothing, so I thought I may as well change the switch as process of elimination. I took my self off to buy one from frauds but on the way to the dealers , the engine management light went out and the brake lights started to work!, until today. Do you think I should change the pedal switch? I have checked the fuses and they are ok, What does any one else think?. Cheers :rolleyes:

I did the same as anadin, but instead of using a self tapper I ground off the studd on the ball end and drilled a 5.5mm hole through it, and then inserted a 5mm bolt through the ball end. I then drilled a 5.5mm hole throught the plasic cup end in the centre and packed this with grease. I then put the two together and fastened the bolt with a nylock nut and nipped it up but not too tight so the wiper linkage moves freely. Been on the car for 3 years now, and is like brand new! Hope this helps. :D

Mine does the same, I had my better half turn the wheel whilst I was outside the car and you cant hear the noise from the outside just from the in, just cant find where the creaking is coming from, help!! :)

Mine stopped working and then started! (gone out again now). I noticed the brake light bulb had blown, changed it-brake light works and so does the clock light!! STRANGE!! :rolleyes:

Mine seems to do the same,turn the steering wheel and the noise goes away, also if you hit a bump in the road, the noise stops for a while. Ill have to clean up the brakes as the squeeling is doing my head in!!!

I had my windows tinted at home by a mobile vehicle tinter. I had the day off work at watched with great awe as he stuck on the film. On the rear quarters and rear screen he heated the film with a heat gun and pressed it down firmly with a plastic spatula, amazing as the film moulded itself to the windows. The guy said he tinted a grand voyager an the rear screen was a pig, he overheated the glass and the screen shattered OOPS!. Hope this is of help

Ive noticed recently that when I turn the steering wheel that there is a creaking sound coming from the front of the car, it happens when you turn the steering to the left and right, some days it is loud on other days it is not, the steering doesn't feel any different, any ideas where I should start looking?

A mate of mine had the same problem, failed its mot on emissions, the garage ran a diagnostic and it came up with faulty lamba sensor. Replaced the sensor but the problem was still there, the garage said because the car was being driven with a faulty sensor, too much petrol had entered his catalytic convertor and this was as fault as well, had that changed plus a service and change of plugs and the car passed its mot at a cost of

Yes, I repaired the broken pipe under the passenger side dash 12 months ago and it all worked fine until recently, as for the washer pump, no you can't hear it working, and the wipe works inermitently, but once it starts it wont stop!! until you turn off the engine!! GREMLINS!!!??@@??!!

where/what else could I look?. when I try the rear wash nothing happens, only wipes when it wants to!

I will have a look in the owners handbook to see if I can find which relay Cheers Ive checked wires & none seem broken or loose, bugger getting tailgate cover off though!

I have a 1998 1.9tdi galaxy, the rear wipe has been erratic since we bought the car 5 years ago, now there is no wipe and no wash!. Checked fuses none have blown, The wipe comes on sometimes but wont turn off until you turn off the engine. Any ideas?
