Hi, My boot/rear door will not unlock with central locking, I have to open it with the key, checked the fuses under the dash and there doesn't seem that anything has blown. Also the interior clock has gone dim and wont keep its time, this has happened at the same time as boot fault, I am completley stumped !!! Any ideas??? Thanks in advance.

Car broke down yesterday, dash lit up but when you tried to start the car....nothing. Checked if plug had come loose on the back of the starter motor but alas no. Rang the RAC, he got his tester on the starter motor, hit it with a hammer! and camr to the conclusion a new starter motor was needed. He popped off to the local motor factor and came with a replacement, fitted it , started the car and it was noisy as hell, a sort of squeeling noise like belts slipping. Took the starter off again and re-fitted but to no avail. Came to the conclusion that the starter was not disengaging, motor factors by this time was closed so he rang for a tow to a "recommended garage". He also said that he forgot to count the teeth on the gear on the starter motor so it could be that, but in his words "It should take no longer than an hour to solve". Rang the garage today and they said they think it is a transmission problem without looking at the car!!, I would personally say it was a starter problem as this only occured since the new starter was fitted! Am I being ripped off...!!??!!

Just replaced the front suspension struts/link bars again!!. This must be the 4th pair in 2 years!! I know the roads are terrible in my part of the country but suerly they should last longer, I can change them in my sleep now!!! Nice and quiet over bumps again now, no knocking and banging as if the front end of the car is about to drop off!!

Cerainly seems like they did, to me it is as if the wiring is too short and tight, so over a period of time they just break, The speakers did it on the opposite rear side of the car around 4 years ago!"

Had a look today at the wiring between door and B pillar as suggested, and the wires are broken, the trouble is that they are broken right in the fitting which it attached to the B pillar. I have removed the fitting and tried to remove the spade connectors but cannot get them out. The broken wire which is still attached to the fftting is about 1mm long so I have no chance of connecting them back with a connector block. Has anyone done this repair before, and if so how did you do it!! I was thinking maybe trying to solder a piece of wire onto the cable still attached to the fitting and then using a connector block. Any ideas?? Cheers

Can Anyone Recommend Me A Towbar And Fitter
oafcowl replied to The Ageless Stranger's topic in Caravan and Touring
Hi, I used MDS Towbars, I think they are in Rochdale, The phone number is 01706 642302 also on the web if you type in MDS Towbars, they have an online quotation form. The beauty is they come to you, either to work or home and fit it! I think ours was around -
Had this "sticking problem" on my galaxy, If you tap the caliper with a hammer it will probably free until you brake/put handbrake on, I ended up replacing both rear wheel claipers, not too difficult a job, and touch wodd they are OK now.

oafcowl replied to slt's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hve you checked ALL your bulbs to make sure they are working? I had ythis twice, once a brake light bulb had failed and also a headlight bulb, both made the glow plug light flash. -

Rear Brake Callipers And Handbrake Lever
oafcowl replied to Ginettamad's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Mine did just the same, both sides were seized. All I could do was tap the arm up and down to free it and using some WD 40 until they freed off. I have greased them up with grease but this is the 2nd year in a row they have done this. I also replaced the pads at the same time, it took 2 of us to wind the pistons back in, one person turning them with a pair of pipe grips whilst the other wound them in with a G clamp!!. -
Hi all, Just thought I would share with you that my old gal has passed her MOT 1st time with no advisories!!!! Well chuffed as we are going down to Norfolk in 3weeks time for our Hols!!

Hi all, I have been having problems with my rear drivers side brake caliper, The Caliper seemed to be "On" when driving as you could feel the car pulling as you tried to set off from a standing start. I took the roadwheel off and with the car jacked up the wheel was a little hard to turn. I Cleaned up the caliper and lubricated with copper grease. It was OK for a couple of weeks and now its worse than ever. I think the easiest solution would be to replace the caliper, I tried frauds near home and they want
