  1. hi i dont know if this will help you i also own a ford galaxy 2.3 auto :D which when running right is a very nice motor but about five months ago :) not such a nice car. the car would start drive o.k but when i parked and returned it would not turn over let alone start i tried fiddling with the gear selector to no avail. mine has a red L.E.D in the drivers door this would flash for one minute continually then start doing a series of code flashes 1-6 (one flash then a pause then six flashes) this is telling you to go to FORD :D i had no choice but to pay ford :o

  3. Hello mum of four thanks for the speedy response FORD :D and ford techs :D are two different enterties FORD :D make lots of money fitting systems that you need a P.H.D in astrophysics to understand, where as your ford tech :D is JOE PUBLIC and has helpfull info and a generous nature to help out other JOE PUBLIC types in distress cheers MAC
  4. I have been told by people that if your car was fitted with an alarm system that there is a code hidden in the VIN NUMBER which tells a ford tech if the system was fitted or not at the factory :D i am hoping a helpful ford tech reads this and can tell me what to look for cheers MAC

  7. Hi nikpv i live in gorton east manchester. The symptoms you suggest are bang on the fast flashing red door light for one minute then the single flash followed by six flashes over and over. Hope this helps you work it out cheers MAC :D
  8. Hi i am really hoping that someone can help. I have a 1999 ford galaxy automatic which has been a good car until recently. About two weeks ago the car would not change up in gear reving the engine too high in my opinion, this occurred about three times but each time it passed as quickly as it came. :D Anyway called at the local shops and upon my return the car turned over but would not start :D so i called the AA who told me the RED flashing light in the door meant that the "car did not recognise the key" but since then found another web site which highlited the flashing fault code which showd 1-6 wire disconnected or loose. I really do not want to rip the car appart trying to find the boxes that make it all go just to find that the answer lay elsewhere. As a contributor said in another section HAYNES MANUALS are not what they used to be :D AND AS FOR FORD :D everything is BRING IT DOWN AND WE WILL LOOK AT IT, but only if you have won the lottery. Cheers for reading MAC
