Cheers for the reply MM. The engine has done 140k but had the head done after cam belt failure at 70k according to past paperwork. Since i've bought it the engine has been 100% sweet, Not even puffing a bit of smoke at start up. The oil level is half way since service at 2/2/06 and water has never needed to be topped up since purchase. Funny you should suggest the MAF as i've just put a second hand one on to eliminate another fault. I will put my old one back on tomorrow and fingers crossed.... Will post back afterwards.
