  1. i don't have an undertray fitted to mine xavier, its a nightmare trying to get one but i will get one eventually, along with all the other things missing on it lol. i just done the brushes in the secondary pump but i need to drop the heater and check the glowplug, last week i did the timing belt, water pump, roller, tensioner, thermostat, but it still takes a while for it to heat up. power steering is noisy until i take the revs up a tiny bit so looks like the pump is going. just the usual little problems like any other car. the forum is a great source of info and help.
  2. if its the vw engine as mine is the gearbox is very heavy and needs anticlockwise to release it from the bracket at the back. i have replaced my clutch twice since july 2014,,, single flywheel conversion kit, 1st clutch was a recon unit and only lasted 1800 miles 4 months... euro parts didnt inform me it was a recon unit and i had a job trying to get it replaced, i opted for a better one, valeo is the make £80 more but its starting to go the same way at just over 2000 miles. takes ages to strip out the battery tray etc to gain access to all the bolts and cables on the box, drain out the oil from the box too, it makes it lighter to drop down and refit. clutch hydraulics unplug at the bleed valve on thr front of the box. i used 2 engine supports, 1 under the engine and the other under the gearbox to help lower and replace. will take about 3 to 4 hours.
  3. mine does it too, '03 plate 115ps. 102k miles,, i bought the car last summer with the dreaded clutch pedal on the floor, i had a leak from the gearbox from the push in seal that is visible from the wheel arch. it was pennies to replace the seal but i had lost over 50% of my oil... its not cheap either mine was 2.5L and vw wanted £50 for 3L. dingbro have the same stuff FEBI make and i got it for £30. i dont know if my 5th gear whined before i changed the clutch to a single flywheel but it does now.. i got 1800 miles from my first clutch, i have fitted a valeo clutch now and its starting to go as well but i have done over 2500 miles so waiting to see what happens next. 5 gear whine isnt a worry for me though as i hardly get into 5th. so maybe my loss of oil didnt help mine.
  4. i done mine with the crossland in question about 4 weeks ago, 700 miles, also the crossland pollen filter. both seem fine
  5. my apologies for the late reply, thanks yes thats it got one from vw
