Well it all depends on how well you feel you can cope. It is a matter of three bolts plus a cable plug to remove the wiper mech complete (once you have removed the wiper arms of course!) Once you have the mechanism out of the vehicle you can access the wiper spindles . Usually only one is seized but both will benefit from cleaning and greasing. Do a search as Mumo4 has a good description on doing the job. Do not be tempted to leave for long as the chances of ruining the motor are very high. Thanks, I think i will give it a try myself with help from a friend. i will do it at the weekend when i am at work (got the use of a lot of tools) this has been ongoing for ages and should be seen to asap. i will let you know how i get on. great step by step mumof4. Thanks, I did a search after i posted and see it is a common problem. i will have to get in touch with my ford mechanic friend as i am useless at anything mechanical ( i dont have the patience for it). Sorry for the post G

Hello, I have had major problems with my wipers. One day they will work the next they wont. Driving along the road and the rain comes on so i put the wipers on and they judder slowly up the windscreen and then stop. I pull over just as i stop they come on (i think they are taking the P*** out of me)??? Any ideas? I have done the cheap modding thing on my other cars (corsa, punto, vectra and mazda 323f) and to be honest they never seem to give you much noticeable power increase!!! I have a 1.9tdi galaxy now and was wondering what i can do to beef it up a bit already planning on remapping it. and also want to lower it too. thanks Graeme
