Hello thanks for all the info because of the info fixing the problem didn't cost me a penny. The problem was the tailgate wiring loom. Found 3 wires that over time lost the outer coating which was causing fuse to blow. Thanks for your help

Hi I'm having similar issue I have a 2.3 auto galaxy 02 plate brake lights not working with it being auto the car will not let me take it out of park. I changed the brake switch which was a pain thinking it might be that but no luck so had to get rac out they found fuse 15 had blow and keeps blowing fuse every time new fuse is put in. When break bulbs are taken out fuse don't blow and car will let me take it out of park. In the end rac changed bulbs and fuse and it worked, rac went then an hr later it blow fuse again. Will it be the tailgate loom if so is it a job for auto electrician ?. Kind regards Stuart
