I had a small wisp of smoke inside the cabin from the passenger side sealt belt column with a fuel type smell, it wasn't that cold outside and theres been nothing since. Do you think this may have just been a spurious burp from the heater or a sign that the glowplug maybe on its way out? Its an 03 mkII but has only done about 50000 miles.

thanks plenty of fuel for thought. Does anybody use the cleaner additives like redex?

I had this problem and found out it was actuall the PATS chip itself in the key was faulty, got a new one and worked first time using the method in the FAQ.

Does anyone actually use premier fuels like BP ultimate and optimax over normal fuels for their gal? Is it really worth it?

Sorry to hear about your grand daughter hope see gets better quickly we changed dr's recently cause he was psyhic could diagnose you as you worked through the door. I play americna football so have a lot of concussive injurys and do a reasonable amount of weight training, as a result i'm only 5'9" but weigh 15 1/2 stone so i am classed as clinicaly obese and he always told me that was why i was ill or in pain because i was obese. Swear he got his dr license from 4 tokens off cereal and 2.50 p&p.

Still gives me a headache i got the jet engine/smoke generator but not sure about the rear heater although i assumed i did as i don't have a storage compartment on the left hand side at the back anymore like my old gal did. I've only got the floor vents at the back even though my CC display allows me to adjust the rear temp higher than the front? :blink:

Got a new key blade and fob off ebay last week fob coded straight away no problems couldn't code for immobiliser turned out chip was faulty. I would however recommend this ebay seller as a quick email to tell him it was faulty and he managed to get me another one later that day and sent it out 1st class next day, arrived following day (same as original blade and fob) and it was coming from ireland. Yeah its strange checked again when i got in from work this morning parked abit further away from another vehicle and could tell there was movement just not the massive movement i used to get on my MK1. Thanks though.

How can you tell what type of headlights you have fitted on your car? I have a 03 ghia and just messing last night realised the headlights didn't adjust with the thumbwheel. Did a quick search on here and found that xenon are auto levelling but possibility that they still had the thumbwheel as it being a generic part to include the dash dimmer? Don't want to be messing bought back at dealers if i can help it, so once again calling on the vast knowledge of you guys. Already saved me 75 quid when tried to charge for coding a key and i said well you only gave me two and i can't programme this one (off fleabay) and i'm aware ex-fleet/hire cars can have the facility to programme new keys turned off (mine ex motobility)(info from Nik) so if it is basically you've screwed me, "Oh hang on let me have another word with sales" and surprise surprise they did it FOC. (turned out key was faulty but hey).

ouch, starts to make you think, my mums was driving down the m62 last week when a 4ft piece 2x2 fell off a lorry bounced up and embedded it self about 2ft into her radiator. Motorway maintence people were just going to leave it on the motorway afterwards as well she had to climb down the embankment to throw it off the motorway.

your lucky according to my wife ours "just" fell off while she was going round a roundabout at ikea.

I touched on this briefly before but my new to me 03 1.9TDi Ghia is just coming up for its first 10,000 miles is it worth getting it serviced now or wait until the scheduled service time of another 6-7 months/8000miles? I've still got 11 months worth of warranty left. It seems its only been used for very short journeys if at all, the first service was at 6500 then ~8000 and then only ~8500. Any issues that might arise from it doing so few miles in the last 2 years? Just for info i tend to do up to 20,000 miles in a year if it makes any difference.
