well my advice i would say mask it as narrow as possable and primer it then 1500 sand primer 1500 sand get it filled in and flat with primer then rattle can it then 2000 sand it

I am one strongly against the use of rattle cans, depending on how deep the scratch is 1) deep scratch filler first sand and spray 2) if its not really deep go to a paint shop and get them to make u a touch up pen to match colour apply pen to scratch let dry build up a few coats doing this allow to cure for 48 hours then use a cutting compound to flatten. if your going to use a spray can be sure to mask above and below scratch and use maybe newspaper above and below, watch for that overspray

I may be wrong but i am sure the emergencey key only has the cut code on it to get a key cut to use the locks, dont quote me on this but im sure u need at least 2 transponder keys to programme any other by using the car.

well i set about on my dads mk1 and he pointed a problem the doors dnt activate interior light with all doors shut and interior lights set to door mode they stay on this suggested to me a possable door pin fault tried one out my galaxy on all 4 doors yet nothing, leads me to beleave a broken wire sumwere, has anyone had this issue also are these pins connected in any way through the door gators or just through the a-pillars and plastic trims on door cills

Well i decided not to give up on the resistor idea bought a few diff ohms rangion up to 10k and guess what i did :) 4.7 ohm 4R70 4.7R 1W/1 Watt Power Resistor http://s12.postimage.org/4d3tvnuo9/537739_10200396534849915_1915110721_n.jpg so if anyone has that damn resistant to high drivers airbag this is a quick fix to get it through the new mot regulations oh and yeah i know my abs light is on but this is due to a split cv boot getting grease on sensor new boot and clean sensor this weekend

and as a thought its not the airbag im after or the clock spring its the main wiring harness from airbag control module, the plug that was cut is the one on the car harness to connect to the clock spring plug,

it cnt be a broken wire as everything works as it should by manuel key lock unlock total closure total open it all works but i cnt get my head round why with this kit installed the drivers door is the only one refuses to lock/unlock

brianh i could agree on the clock spring if it was connected if u see my pic at start of thread it has beeut off. ive decided the best way to solve this problem is to go and salvage a airbag wiring loom from scrappies, no cutting and joining wires, and as for my mot i checked dvla website it isnt due till may lol so i have 2 mths to fix

yeah brian i had clocks apart and can achieve it by way of desoldering the led for airbag drill small hole in circuit board were the led was and resolder 2 wires and the led to the oil led, tried all sorts like i said im going to do the cv boot clean the drivers abs sensor and stick her in for mot on monday get the advisory and work from there

i have them in my mk1 gear x and they pointless is a struggle to turn drivers round and bein over 6ft i have to wrestle with one of my kids through back passenger door to get in lol

there only one door lock on my galaxy and it driver door and yes i can turn key to the left locks windows up and alarmed turn to right unlocked windows down unarmed ... i cnt see why all door locks lock with the aftermarket kit alarm armed yet the drivers door wnt lock,,,

ok i followed the topic here to the T it sort of works the drivers door will not lock or unlock, all other doors do hazards flash and light on drivers door comes on, but i can lock and unlock with a key, any ideas could this be a faulty part in drivers door???
