Lol not turn your steering wheel when stationery, forgive me but when we are parked do we just go backwards and forwards and nudge the other cars out of the way lol j/k.I know what you meant. Will have a look later today, thanks for the replies and the diagrams much appreciated. If it is a new tensioner thats required any idea on price and best place to get one thanks.

Hi have noticed this problem and think its getting worse have read through a lot of other posts and in particular one that gave this bit of an explanation. Took from other post Mine did this, turned out to be power steering/etc - belt tensioner had failed; Looking under bonnet- engine running, the jockey wheel type tensioner was juddering all over the place, this went away as revs increase: New belt/ tensioner. (warranty job done). Does this sound like what could be wrong with ours, also any chance of a picture of where the jockey wheel type tensioner is so i have got some idea where to look.Any help/info appreciated thanks.

Air Con - Here We Go Again!
Wideboy replied to zman's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Ok bit of an update the man in the garage also said that it might charge itself up and start working if there was any kind of air lock,as it seemed the air con hadn't been touched for a while, and low and behold 2 days ago wife said it working it a lot colder now so i had to investigate and hurrrahhhh its working spot on now. That saves me a few quid anyway,so holiday will be nice and cool. :16: -

Yes when the car went in for the aircon to be re-gassed the display was flashing after re-gass stopped flashing so i guess that part worked ok,even considering px this car on another rather than having to shell out -

Thank you for that,i will report back on friday let you know how it goes specialist garage doing it,have used several times in past,so will see whats what. After reading the bit on how to check your aircon at least i know the compressor is ok as i followed instructions off this post and it spins freely so thats a good start. http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...topic=8308&st=0 -
Air Con - Here We Go Again!

Having mine done this friday regas/service/leak test let you know how it goes, quick question when i have the climate on and the mpg reading goes down, does this mean that the compresser is working as it should or not?? Just hoping not too much is wrong with it when we have the service.Obviously if you switch off the climate the mpg goes up. -
Ok towbar all done nice quick job took the bloke about an hour,he had to remove the rear bumper to fit tow bar but no cutting out of rear bumper at all.v pleased with it top job. Here's the website if anyones interested http://www.cdftowbars.co.uk/

Pull bonnet catch do not lift it up yet, lock car check alarm flashing on door interior top, give it 30 secs then try opening the bonnet with the car locked, should get it to go off.

Having towbar fitted friday by one of the best i have used and the most reasonable will let you know if bumper has to be cut out.Using same people i always use for towbars generally the best and most competitive i have found for the sharan its

High Fuel Consumption
Wideboy replied to safetyman's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Lol wish we got 30-40,around town in our 2.0 sharan we get around 19.6 ish i think if i had read up a bit better before i bought i would of gone for the vr6 as to be honest i think the petrol would be about the same,ah well still pleased with the car i got at the min, plus our espace we had previous wasnt as good on petrol as what our sharan is so i guess shouldn't complain. -
Strange Window Problem
Wideboy replied to Wideboy's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Is there a sensor of some sort to stop kids hand's etc getting stuck in window as like i said before it seems to get to the point of shutting up and then drops down like it should as if there was something in the way.Any more info/ideas appreciated thanks. -
Strange Window Problem
Wideboy replied to Wideboy's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Nope didn't make any difference but thanks all the same. -
Hi all wife went to unlock car this morning and passenger drivers side electric window went down only to the point of where it stops as if something in its way to avoid trapping kids arms and such like. Then she had difficulty getting it to go back up as soon as it came to where it should shut it would go back down to previous point i mentioned.Eventually got it to go back up and stay up by just tap tapping switch so it like only went up say inch at a time.Tried it again tonight didnt happen when you unlocked the car but still happened if you put the window down and went to do it back up again, cant see anything stopping the window actually going up but unless you tap tap the window switch it will come back down again. Is it likely to be a sensor? Any help appreciated

How Much For Regass On Aircon?
Wideboy replied to Wideboy's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
If i explain what its like someone can say what they think best option is,its the climate control on our model which means the aircon is on all the time unless you turn it off but haven't yet, heater works a treat nice'n warm, when put on to lo gets cold but not ice cold, but then again do you think be better to wait till warmer weather as might not be able to fully appreciate whether its that cold or not.Any advice appreciated once again thanks. -
