2001 galaxy ghia,replaced compressor,regassed,no pwr to pump and no reason y!!!!

RIGHT HERE GOES, I have replaced my air-con pump recently,but i still cant get it to work properly,its been regassed up to right pressure but the guy said its like theres no power to the compressor,ive checked all the fuses and relays associated (i think)but im still having no joy,the climate display is flashing when 1st turned on and its showing no fault codes,can any1 shed some light?????? thanks

yh,shorter belt fiited,was askin as the alternator is a vw unit

hi all,last year I purchased a mk2 2.3 2001 galaxy and I noticed a couple of months ago the air-con pump pulley was missing,i want to replace the pump but I cant find the part number so I can get a second hand 1!!! could any1 tell me if one from a tdi will fit as im sure its from vag/ae parts bin but im not sure..... many thanks

hi all,was wondering if any1 has come across this but they seem a quite common fault,got a 2.3 galaxy that under hard acceleration and quick gear change is making a massive banging noise from engine bay,had a look and it looks like the lower gearbox mount(engine torque restrictor as ford call it!!) is failing,especially on the rear bush!! Was wondering if any1 knows of a upgraded bush maybe a polybush that i could change over to save buying a complete mount, I have checked the powerflex website but they dont stock anythin for the galaxy. thanks.

hi guys,ive had my car on a diagnostic and theve come back and said its fault code po460-low fuel sensor circuit!! basically when the car is cold its like its chokin up and under hard acceleration it struggles for power and but not extreme!! ive been told this could equate to a number of things but im not sure where to start looking,ford codes online said it could be up to 10 different things! has any 1 come across this??? p.s its a 2001 2.3 petrol

hi all,having a small problem with our galaxy,when starting from cold it has no power under acceleration,when warm it improves but it seems like theres something holding it back,ive changed the plugs,leads,fuel filter and air filter to no avail and im at a loss to wat it could be! any ideas greatly appreciated

hi all,was wondering if any1 knows the procedure for removing the front wing on my mk2 galaxy?? had some1 back into the car while i was out today and its going to need replacing,luckily i have a parts donor car but not sure how it comes off as it includes the front 1/4 window,any ideas guys????

all sorted now,turned out to be the cheapo drop links i fitted,iv put genuine ford on now and it drives a lot better!!!

the struts are brand new tho,i know there meant to be floating as thats the way they designed as when its on its wheels there bout 3/8" play on the top but thats how they meant to be,ive tried everythin i can think of and its got me baffled!!

i thought that tbf,and the weekend i did change the bottom arms as 1 of them had almost split right across,but its still doing it,ive read that theres a bottom engine mount that can fail,but would make the same noise as a suspension clunk as that what it sounds like,my car is a 2.3 petrol....

right guys,after a bit of help, i have recently changed the suspension on our ford galaxy,the thing is its now clunking from the front,poss the o/side???? the springs came from my 2001 alhambra as i thought the galaxy was too soft,ive fitted brand new monroe shocks,new top mounts and bearings,new drop links and anti roll bar bushes and its still clunking and im at a loss to what it could be,ive had it up on ramps and all seems tight under there!!! the only thing i havnt changed is the anti roll bar itself as i know the alhambra sat lower could it be possible the roll bar on the galaxy cant cope???? any ideas guys????

ive just put alhambra mk2 springs on mine and its improved no end,tho i have put new shocks on it aswell and 17" wheels

thats ok as iv got a 2000 alhambra im using for parts so am gonna swap suspension over to me galaxy as its too wallowy!!

is the suspension on a mk2 alhambra different to a mk2 galaxy?? reason being i had 17" wheels on our old alhambra and iv put them on our 2001 galaxy and it seems to ride higher than our alhambra used to!!

does anyone know if ford ever fitted a 6-speed manual transmission to 2.3 mk2 galaxy??

UPDATE, took the pump off and wired it direct to the battery,worked ok,checked all the fuses(not sure which 1 controlled the pump),how ever found a fuse that didnt look like it was gone but it had melted into the outer plastic,replaced and went up the m6,all working fine so thanks all for your advice,now all i need to find is a 6-speed gearbox!!!!

UPDATE found the pump and the pipe had split,cut it down and replaced,tho still not working,dont think its the pump as im sure i heard it working when i started the car,any other ideas guys??

tbh,ive found a 6-speed gearbox on ebay and they have said its from a 2.3,but im not 100% that ford actually fitted 1!!!

hi all, i have just purchased a mk2 galaxy ghia 2.3,everythin works apart from the cruise control!! is the way it works the same as the mk1 i.e vacuum fed or is electronically controlled and if so would any1 know where i can start looking?? many thanks

AN UPDATE; while ive been waiting for a garage to get back to me,its suddenly started throwin out a bluish smoke out the back,smells of burning oil and the oil pressure light has popped up on the dash,im wondering now if its more serious than a head gasket!!!!!
