  1. have tried cleaning it but problem still there yes i agree if i disconnect it while the engine is running it does cut out, but if i switch off the engine and remove positive from battery and then disconnect the plug from it replace battery positive car starts fine (unless cold) and runs great just a lack of power but this should do me till new part arrives couldnt drive around the way it was as a couple of days ago i was at a junction next to a police car and my car started reving up to 4000 revs and then even higher the looks i got off the old bill ha ha ha ha
  2. no the maf is on the air intake which goes to the trottle body if i unplug that car runs really bad the one i have unplugged is a cylinder shape on the right this is the part i have unplugged >>>> http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2ec1155307 once i unplugged this part i have no problems at all so my problem must be this part iv been calling it the mass idle meter but is actualy called > AIR BY PASS VALVE IDLE SPEED CONTROL
  3. i dont have a burning smell !!!!!!!!!! my problem was my galaxy would rev very loudly when steering but would only happen when it was warm and would also take far far too long to return to idle which firstly pointed to the alternator pulley which does have a clutched pulley for the steering issue and needs a spline remover tool to take off the high revs and the amount of time to return to idle pointed towards the tps sensor but none of these were the problem it turned out to be the mass idle meter as now i have unplugged it car drives fine no problems at all so it will stay unplugged till i get another idle meter but thankyou very much for your comment and is very much appreciated
  4. right thought i would update you all about my problem,,, after a google search i found 2 possible things that could cause my power steering issue 1 was tps sensor on throttle body the second was alternator pulley as this operates on a clutch ?????? .. Well any way i decided the easiest thing to change was the tps sensor on the throttle body so went scrap yard (turned out to be not so easy and straight forward ha ha ) i took the hole throttle body including the tps sensor and fitted today took about an an hour and a half for me to swap throttle bodies but problem still was there (dam) was not happy .... this pointed the the other possible problem the alternator clutch pulley and after adding up costs as i cant change this my self (aint got a clue ha ha ) thought just scrap it!!!! but luckily i decided to start un plugging sensors and trying if it made a difference so i unplugged the maf sensor car did not like that ha ha ha then i unplugged the one nearest the throttle body on air intake pipe nothing happened was still the same . then i unplugged what i later found thanks to haynes manual was the mass idle meter and done no revving problems does not go mad when i turn the steering wheel this has got to be my problem soon as i plug it back in my galaxy goes mad especially when sturning the steering wheel
  5. hi once again since this wonderful site fixed my last problem in a matter of 48 hours i thought i would tell you about my other problem might even save me garage fees ha ha ha problem i have is power steering which i must say works fine especially if the engine is cold but once heats up my steering becomes heavy but still able to turn the wheel but whilst im turning the steering wheel the engine revs to and 3000 revs and sits there till i stop turning the wheel, if i turn the steering wheel too far i get a loud screatching noise and engine revs even higher, I have checked fluid levels which are fine , i did a google search for my problem and got nothing ha ha apart from check for burning smell from fluid which i dont have a burning smell. but looking through this site i see alot of posts about alternator pulley do you think this could be my problem as steering works as it should whilst the engine is cold (on choke) but soon as revs drop to just under 1000revs (once warmed up )this is when my problems start it seems to me that the engine is not going fast enough for the steering if you understand what i mean its kinda hard to explain oh i must also add if i put my foot on the accelerator whislt steering i get no noises no screatching and steering is fine thankyou very much for any advice you can give me
  6. right my heater is now working with nice hot heat checked the manual and it says to activate heat from the blower you must first have the recirculate button to the on position which is the orange light in front fan speed controls so i pressed that and after a few mins hot air coming from back blower my problem is solved thankyou all for your help
  7. the fuse for the rear blower and rear blower ac is under the steering wheel central fues box number 33 for aux rear heating and 34 for rear blowing ac owners manual link > http://ebookbrowse.c...673327ddab7f9dc there is also a relay numbered 1 but check the manual link
  8. thanks seatkid will be checking that all out today thanks for the advice
  9. thanks for the info i will check the pipes under the car tomorrow and update you ,, my fan motor works so i wont have a fuse problem however if yours does not work at all after pressing the on button on the dash which is a picture of a car showing heat from underneath then could be i suspect your fuse or the motor its self
  10. hi i have a 1995 2.0l galaxy and have noticed that the rear heater only ever blows cold i have checked the faq,s but can only find info on aux heater for diesel galaxys.. my front vents blow hot air and works correctly however when i press the button on the dash to switch on the rear heater all i get is cold air from rear blower no matter which fan speed i select, i have replaced the temp and fan speed control switch on the roof just behind the front passenger seat but its still the same only cold.. can anyone give me any information about why this is my galaxy does not have aircon but does have a switch which controls the front fan speed that when pressed turns on a orange light buts thats about it i have checked my owners manual and repair manual but neither of them explains why i can only get cold air from the rear any help or advise you can give me would be greatly appreciated thankyou
