  1. I wish I had read this thread before last weekend!! I was offered a 2001 2.3 Ford Galaxy with a full body kit and everything for £100. I turned it down because it needed a new steering rack (pretty straight forward) and he was having relay issues with it as sometimes it wouldn't start!! I feel gutted now!! :(
  2. Well, I'm a little dissapointed by the lack of responce on this forum!! I have posted a few replies and started a couple of threads over the last few days and no one has even said hello to a newbie like myself!! My previous motor was a Volvo V40 and I had a lot of trouble with it so I went on www.volvoforums.org.uk and got a very warm welcome, advice and very cheap parts!! Although I only owned the car for a year, I have made a few very good friends on that forum that I now keep in regular contact with and meet up with when I am in England. I don't know, maybe I wasn't expecting the same from this forum but I was at least expecting a "hello". Any way, rant over and maybe you guys just thought I would be a one time forum terrorist who posts once and never checks back? If so then I see your frustration and appologise for my rant but I do like my galaxy and would like to stick around for a while and see how this forum works out!!
  3. I also like the look of that!! Nicest wheels I have seen on a galaxy so far!! I do like the look of the wheels at the top of this thread and all the galaxy's above but I do like the look of the RS6's the most.
  4. I was not planning on doing any external mods to my new mk2 galaxy... Until I saw this thread!! Now when I look at mine, I can see how high it rides and how far inboard in standard wheels sit. 18" wheels and lowering is now on the cards. Thanks guys!! :/ As to the ride, as someone who used to modify cars for a living, if you use just the springs to lower the vehicle, the ride quality shouldn't be spoilt but with the 18's, there will be less give in the sidewall of the tyre so it may be a little harsh. If in doubt, go for 17" wheels with a 235/45x17 tyre. Ride will be much nicer on these and handling should be improved.
  5. Personally, I think it would take away some of the comfort level of these cars and maybe distracting when driving at night. As someone who used to modify cars for a living, I can see what you are trying to do and on a show car, it would look very good but I do think it would be hard to live with on a motor that is used daily. If you do decide to do it though, please post some pics as I for one would love to see the end result.
  6. Hi guys, new to the forum and galaxy ownership. The galaxy mk2 I have just bought is missing the seat tilt wheels. Would anyone have the part numbers for these? I have posted in the introduction section a few days ago with pics of the exterior and interior if anyone needs to see the seat colour to get a trim match. Cheers. Ian
  7. Hello, Just popped in to say hello as I am new to this forum. I have recently purchased a 2002 Ford Galaxy 2.3 16v which I am enjoying a lot at the moment. I bought the car off a friend who I worked for up until he had to make me redundant at the end if last year. Up until that point I was running a tyre bay for him and looked after this car so it is a car I know very well and it has never given him any trouble except from the air con compressor seizing which I replaced so again, I know the job was done properly!! Anyway, here are a few pics of the new addition to my family. There are a few things I would like to do to it but we will get into that later! Thanks Ian
