How can I tighten the large nut on top of the power steering pump? I have a leak and no matter how I try, no spanner or socket will go on. Do I have to remove the pump?

Update. Car now has a flashing MIL ( engine management Light/ Malfunction Indication Light) and has developed a misfire. Therefore cannot be driven due to possible damage to the catalytic converter. Urgent help is needed (mrs and 3 kids). I will of course reimburse petrol money to you if you would be so kind and come to me.

Hi all, does anyone live near me (Rayleigh, Essex) who could plug their code reader into my Galaxy MK2 2.3 petrol please? I have my MIL illuminated and I need it sorted before I take my family away in it. I don't want to pay a garage £40 to find out it was only a sensor or something else cheap to repair. I will of course travel to you.
