  1. Hi there! Thanks for the reply. Sorry mine is slow but my Internet died for two days. Yes that is the same menu I used in the YouTube video which is where I got the readings from. Quite nice as you can start the engine and run it real time. So it looks like I need to change it as it is definitely running cool. Not impressed with the local ford dealer as they seem to have told me a load of cobblers. Probably didn't want to bother as its a warranty job potentially and they didn't sell it to me. I think I will pick up a thermostat and change it myself. At least it will eliminate something if it doesn't sort it out! And I'll know it's been done. Again thanks for the info!
  2. Hi there! I'm new to this forum and new to the galaxy! I've just bought a 2010 59 plate zetec 2.0 tdci (138ps) I'm a little concerned with the engine running temperature. It seems to take ages to heat up and when it does it runs at approx 82 on the needle. I've done a bit of research regarding the thermostat and have found out it should open at 83c. I've also checked on the LCD display test and after a good run (125 miles on m6) it read 80/81c and dropped to 76 when idling at the side of the road after only a couple of minutes. I've called my local dealer in Coventry - allenford and after making an enquiry as to where the needle should sit was told half way so as mine is just over a third I booked it in and they did a test. Allegedly it is fine (despite not reading as they told me it should) they did a diagnostic and road test etc...... Fairly contradictory. So in a nutshell where should the needle sit and what should the diagnostic test read? Also heating seems pretty feeble even at this time of year so I assume it's all related! Your replys and knowledge would be appreciated! Many thanks in advance Paul
