I think i may buy a VAG-COM cable for my lappy. However once i do get it how do i use the thing or is that a really stupid question. I have decided to try to fix most of the common faults myself instead of being ripped off from now on Piney

Im no expert but sounds like it could be the anti roll bar links. Try a search on here plenty of others with the same problem including me. Easy to sort tho

Guys Thanks again to your greatness and past threads i have come to the conclusion that i need a new pulley for my alternator. Yep that same problem a lot of us seem to get. Loud screeching noise, rough sounding power steering and the air con is on strike. What i need to find out is how on earth can i find out the part numbers i need. looking on ebay i can get what i need but i really want the correct part before i shell out more money. Do i need to pay a garage to take the part out and find out the part number? I thank you in advance once again. Pine.

I have the same problem as my passenger side window when opens drops down. Lucky tho as i can still close it and stays up. Are these easy to do as i dont know where to start really. ta Pineappleman 03 Mk2 115PD

Mine has packing in and is way down the list as i cant change it and dont really want to be charged lots of maney for the sake of 10 mins extra to get warm.

I always thought i was lucky with my 03 115PD gal untill i took her for the MOT. Kwik fit do cheap MOTs and you get a fiver on for booking online. Air con also booked cause they do it for

Oh and to add if you are found to have excessive tints you will find your self NOT insured add 6 points and a fine for that to. Plus you will be black listed on the insurance database. so in all think is it really worth it. :ph34r:

Hi guys just had my 03 115PD TD serviced and brakes done the mechanic advised me when i picked it up that the a CV joint is showing signs of wear and tear and cracking and will need sorting one day. My question is as the MOT is due soon will it fail because of it? do they check such things? And what am i lookng at price wise to have it sorted? Thanks you lot ;) Oh while im here its not a biggy but my offside rear door lock is now not working with the central locking its ok to open it just has to be locked and unlocked by hand any ideas? Hmmm cant even get the cartridge out it is well and truly stuck it makes a whirling sound but wont eject it not even by sticking a pin in that little hole.

:lol: Hi anyone know what error 5 means on the Cd Changer??? The cartridge seems stuck it makes a noise as if its changing discs but i cant seem to get the cartridge to come out any soulutions??

Yeah they test the handbrake only not the light. Just to say my work car (Escort) Failed the MOT because it had a fault with the electrics i rigged the fuse box to get it through. To sum up all lights worked but the lights only worked with the ignition on and when the ignition was on the side and tail lights were always on. Not a problem i thought and if it failed i had 14 days to fix the problem and was only waiting for the spare part to fix. However the garage failed it because the lights did not work with out the ignition on and then told me they no longer did a free retest within 14 days, I was fuming as there website stated a free retest in 14 days plus i didnt think the lights not working unless the ignition was on should fail the MOT after all you cant drive without the ignition being on. I explained to the garage all this and they were having none of it so i went home and spoke to VOSA who agreed with me and since then have tested my car and passed it. The delight i had with telling the garage they suck was priceless but they still refuse to agree with VOSA so if in doubt appeal the failed MOT. PS VOSA refunded me the MOT fee.

Hi can anyone answer the following please. 1. If all the lights work ok but you cant turn off the side/tail lights when the ignition is on will it fail the MOT???? 2. you can only operate the lights when the ignition is turned on. Will this fail the MOT?? Thanks Pineappleman

Hi again just a quicky when i brought my car it came with a service key (plastic) and a key with no remote and a remote key. My question is should there be a red master key or not? Thanks for that i have a waranty for the car so i have to take it to a garage. But i would like to know the best way to decribe the problem to the garage so i only lose it for a day otherwise they may take weeks to find the fault lol. Thanks Pineappleman
