A man went to a dentist one day for a regular check up. The dentist decided that one tooth was in such bad condition that it should be extracted. The dentist advised the man of the situation who agreed to the procedure. When the dentist went to give the man an injection the man said "don't worry, I don't need an injection". The dentist went on to explain that the procedure could be very painful however the patient insisted that he would be OK without a needle. The patient went on to explain that he had two experiences in recent times that had made him immune to pain so the dentist went ahead and extracted the tooth. To the dentist's amazement the guy didn't even wince. The dentist, quite astonished remarked " that was amazing, the two recent experiences you say you had that made you immune to pain must have been something special, would you care to tell me about them". The man said "sure, one day I was out hunting and suddenly had an overwhelming urge to evacuate my bowels. I ducked behind a bush and squatted down and my scrotum landed squarely on the trigger of a rabbit trap and CRUNCH!!". The five digits, 14-18 (19 is a constant*) are the Vehicle Sequence No. I know it may be difficult to assume anything with Ford but if this no. was quite low could we assume that it was from near the beginning of the 110 run and not from the longer run of the 90? :blink: Andy.

110 put into vehicles built on or after 03/11/97 'TIS said. Vehicle in question built on 27/11/97, which is AFTER 03/11/97, should therefore have a 110!! e&oe

Dear Walter: I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. If it is clear, check the jubilee clips holding the vacuum pipes onto the inlet manifold. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the injector chamber. Walter

That will be the 12th and 13th digits because the 1st digit is always *, so from the info in my previous post it appears that your vehicle was built in November 1997 with the 110 being introduced on 3/11/97 which was a Monday. :lol: Andy

The VXT 75 transmission used in the Galaxy is based on the well-known MTX 75 transmission." The MTX 75 gearbox was standard fit in Escorts and Mondeos.

The 110 engine was introduced into vehicles built on or after 03/11/97. The vehicle build code is VD and the engine designation is AFN. Look on the VIN plate which should be attached to the B pillar, passenger side, digits 12 and 13 in the VIN number in the second long box down give the year and month of build. V for 1997 D for Nov. If you dont have those letters let me know and I will try and decipher the ones you have. :ph34r: Andy.
