Carl As you say your unit must be faulty, I checked mine today and its all shufling fine, both single CD and whole magazine. Is it a factory fit CD player or dealer fit/aftermarket? Also does your car have the multifunction steering wheel? Jason

Carl, if you go into the settings menu you can swap from single disc shuffle to magazine shuffle! This unit is very good as standard and even better when hooked up to the rear seat screens and DVD, it can be used as a third screen with sound via speakers. It does not hook up with traffic master, although the unit does have a hard disc memory for storing traffic announcements if you missed them. You can also push the TIM button when you park up at night and it will store the messages broadcast overnight (continually overwriting) ready for when you get in in the morning for the battle to work! very handy!!! If your looking for one I have a unit for sale! these can be fitted reasonably easily.

17" wheels are available as a dealer fit option, not sure on price but its possible that you could negotiate a part ex on the standard wheels? Other options in clkude selling wheels via this site or ebay? if its a ghia your buying, I'd be happy to take one wheel and tyre off you as I would love to have a fith full size spare!

Anyone know where the unconnected end of the CD changer cable can be found under the dash? My 2003 130TDI has Sat Nav, so the changer is deleted as standard. However I have found the CD changer cable end behind the rear panel and now need to find the other end at the dash???? Any ideas much appreciated? regards jakey247

Can anyone help, its typical I have lent my TIS to a friend and need some guidance on removing aircon display module. The reason I need to temporarily remove it is so i can get the video in signals into the Navigation unit, as the box of trix is about 100mm by 80 x 20 I need to get this in the back behind the aircon display. I have pulled and pushed and tugged but it just does not want to budge? I have never had one so difficult before any ideas welcomed?? :) Jakey247

Does anyone know if the off-set is different between pre2000 and post 2000 modelas??? only in the 2000 on model handbook it states a warning not to use previous model years wheels! Any ideas?????? Jakey 247

I would agree with this as well, although the revised position is hardly the optimum one! Especially if like me you have multi-function wheel. I am still looking for the horn button by which time its too late to toot!!! B)

Talking of alloys I have a spare (pretty good condition) 16inch Ghia wheel for pre 2000 model if anyone is after one. Also if anyone has one for sale I am after a 2002 Ghia alloy as I always like to travel with a full size spare.

The 2007 does not have its own integral amp. For once the Haynes manual is correct the amplifier is sandwiched between the radio and the cubbie hole below. To remove it you need to remove the radio, cubbie hole and aircon controls, so that the outer bezel can be unscrewed and removed with this off the amp is easily accessed. In case anyone wants one I have an adaptor lead for sale that can be used to connect straight to the speaker plug, thus by passing the amp (handy for when you upgrade but don't wnat to mess the stndard car wiring up)

Retro fitting Xenon healamps is possible but a pain, plus find the parts from a salvage yard is a nightmare. Best place to look for them is german ebay!

On a previous Galaxy I upgraded the speakers for Sony units. these were mounted behind the panels (which are a pain to remove by the way!). With door panels off I the carefully removed the old grilles and glued the steel sony grilles in place. The finished effect was very neat. plus you can always spray paint steel grilles to match the interior!

V6 Galaxy - Did you get a VW CD then? as I could not locate a ford lead easily. Anyway I ended up making my own patch lead up to use a Sony Minidisc player, which works fine. My unit and my spare sale one are both Ford series D units so have green illumination. The VW and Seat units have orange illumination, but to change this to green is possible but requires fiddling inside. When connecting the 26way plug you are connecting to pins 21 and 12 thats green/white and blue white (Rear ABS sensors) easiest point is on loom just by the ABS module, pull plug off and expose cables under tape of the loom. No problems just ask if you need info, if I can help I will!

I have been waiting for the 130BHP TDi specs since its announcemnet in December. I figured that based on upon the noticeable difference bewtwen the 90 and 115 TD's, I'd go for it anyway. I still have no firm delivery date! so please give us a review of your SA when you get it!

V6 Galaxy - the standard red/orang illumination on the VW/Seat/Audi units can not be changed easily. Unlike some head units (e.g. Sony) its not a case of push a button hey presto green illumination. It can be done, but you need some parts and plus you have to open the unit up and go inside, never done it myself! but i have seen the green led/circuit boards for sale on German e.bay. As for softaware well as your unit is a B version it uses the Non DX version that is used on the latter C & D series units. Had it been a later one I may have been able to help you. This said I have seen the discs pop up on UK ebay a few times, you need to ask the seller though (in case its not in the description) if its the DX version, if it is, it will not work on the A & B series units. Regarding the 26 way plug, have you tried a UK VW dealer? if you have major hassles I have one I can probably spare for a small fee. Also are you still after the 9 way blue CD plug? V6 galaxy - when you say CD is not working? what do you mean? In case you are trying to play audio CD's then it wont! the slot is for the CD Rom map only. Explain alittle and I'll help if I can? - remember for full navigation to work you need a GPS aerial connected and unit hooked up to ABS module under bonnet RH side of engine near radiator expansion tank. Try a UK VW dealer for the 26way plug. Although I may be able to get yu one from a german friend. basically you only need to connect a couple of the pins, blue/white and green/white. If you don't have it already its worth buying a copy of the TIS CD as this has full wiring diagrams! Regards Jason

I take it that this unit was not factory installed! and you are installing it as an upgrade???? I can help as I have played around with these units quite a bit - (see other posts on this site on how to use MFD as third screen hooked up to rear DVD etc!) Basically you need to supply the safe pin, thats the third pin from left on second row up from bottom (directly above the illumination) with a positive 12v supply - this will then allow you to enter the code and the unit will then function! Hope this helps, if you need more info please ask! remember you need to connect the sat nav 26 way plug wires to the ABS modele at plug C60 under the bonnet to get it to work properly!

Things I wouldlike to see are; digital instrument displays like renault espace and citreon picaso. The quality of the leather could be improved, its a bit cheap when you only get the front faces and PVC sides and backs! I'd like to see a full size alloy spare that does not limit you to 50mph. the return of the roof monted digital clock, I just hate the 2000 on dash mounted analouge job. I would also like to see a cut in delivery waiting times, my first TDi was 27 weeks, 21, my current car and so far I have been waiting nearly 12 on a new one. I'd like to see the rubbing strips colour coded again, like on the Mk1's also the ford ovals in the strip on the doors should be brought back. twin sunroof options like those available in europe should be available in the UK. I would also like to see the multimedia DVD player be combined with the CD palayer so that you have a multiplay DVD or CD player that can be used either way. A TV tuner option for use with the multimedia system would be nice too.
