2ltr petrol 1976 regularly wont start cranks but no go have to relock doors and open again assume prob with im obiliser but what and where is it and i know its a prob can i fix it easily? i know lots of questions but its doin my ead in so PLEASE

have a 96 2ltr petrol and i snapped a drives shaft pulling away from a junction ( steadily i might add) shaft snapped off just outside the inner cv joint speaking to others in trade its a common problem must be sub standard materials cos the dimensions of the metal makes them tough or should be. cost 240 quid trade for a replacement and 20 mins work to change cost me 90 quid to get suspend towed home.

i have a 1996 2ltr petrol after it failed its mot again on emissions on the way back from the garage i pulled away from a junction and bang no drive turns out the nearside driveshaft has sheared of at the inner cv joint has anyone else heard of this ( been in the motor trade for 34 yrs not heard a dsriveshaft shear on a guttless motor before . :ph34r:

i have a 96 galaxy 2 ltr petrol and had same problem but with a diff solution . please dont hold me responsible if it dont work try this remove the offending switch and carefully seperate the contacts from the switch body its very simple then contact plate sin the switch are simply slid over the plastic post lift each contact off and clean the face of each contact and hey presto it could just work. ok no guarantees but its easier to try than 90 oddo qid from the fraud for a door loom.

earth tag for screen is in inside the cover for interior light/sunroof switch plate it is a wide flat strip. either side of dash board by 1/4 lights is a small rmovable panel just ops out there is a red wire under each this is the screen terminals . a new scree is near 400 quid a palin one is around 200 ( i replaced my non working heated with a plain when a stone shot it out.

hi i opened ( or tired to open) my sunroof for the first time today and it was kinda stuck , gave it a thump and it opened no probs cleaned the gunk from round the roof seal all works as it shuld until i try to ues the key to shut everything ie leave roof and winmdows open lock the car hold the key over and all ope things close except the roof, it work perfectly ok til it tried to open today and i feel ive popped something somewhere any ideas cos its something i really liked and already miss ive checked all fuses i can find :)

:D got a 96 20ltr petrol for my sins lately the temp gauge and fuel gauges are playing tricks temp gauge tends to fluctuate violently and fuel gauge tells lies ( ran out last night with 44 miles remaining on trip lol put in 5quid from a can milage left went up to 114) fuel doesnt tell lies consitantly sometimes is ok seems the more fule the lower the temp gauge reads as well. in an older car id say the votage stabiliser had gone but do modern cars have em .... dont think so any views or questions please ask as wife is goin mad cos of this cheers

firstly your garage sound ameaturs would i be right in saying you have high emissions and the oxysensor reading failed if so then try a new lambda sensor ( usually haver to buy a universal) also they have a habit of the lambda sensor loosing its earth. secondly try the air flow metre when looking at the air flow metre wiring connection ( think i have this right) the left hand pin ( looking at it face on) should have a reading of 0.5 volts at tick over and i belive 1.5 volts at 3000 rpm if this is incorrect it CAN cause excessively high emission readings try all of these
