Hi The same thing happend to my Freelander TD4,2 weeks after a service.Like you I nursed it to the dealer using the clutch.THE FAULT WAS THAT A NUT HAD FALLEN OF OFF THE PEDAL,IT WAS SWINGING LOOSE. Like the Galaxy its drive by wire..hope this helps.

HI Guys I have a mk2 (i think)55 plate,i also ran out in the dark only to find a bit of carpet covering some wires.I also looked in the handbook and there is nothing said about it,so i think this is not a storage compartment :huh:

How noisy should my engine be?Mine has a deep growl,as much as a deisel can growl.But a Sharan passed by and it had a nice sound ,much softer than mine and I could hear the turbo whine,no chance of hearing it on mine.It goes in for its first service(interime)2000 miles should I say anything?

Guys what should the rev counter be at when the car is at idle?Mine (TDi)is at 9000-9500 seams a bit high to me.

Thanks for all the info guys,as the seasons has now finished I will have to wait untill March b4 I tow again.As for the reves I had my foot to the floor in4th and 5th trying to build the revs up.

Me again guys,thanks for the info....to give you the whole picture my car has just turned 2000miles(does it need run in?)and the caravan is Bailey Senator Arizona.yes I try and tow between 65 to 70 foot was all the way to the floor in sixth,any small incline just killed it and had to drop a gear.Could not tow at 60 in sixth it would just about stalling.I had a land rover td4 and it would burn the balls off the galaxy on towing..needless tow say i am very disapointed.WISH I had my landie back.

I KNOW DONT ASK A QUESTION FOR WEEKS THEN 2 COME. If anyone tows a caravan what MPG do you get?I tow a fair size van with the 1.9 tdi 150bhp and only get 19mpg should I get better than this?
