Haynes manual and vehicle handbook both state 10w-40 so i don't reckon its oil grade related. -
Rattle On A Cold Start

Hi m8. Im using Millers XFE 10w-40 changed 700 miles ago. -
Hi gang. Recently as this cold weather gets worse i am getting a rattle from the engine for about 30-45 secs after starting. It sounds like the tappets. Could it be where the oil is cold and taking longer to fill them or something more sinister. ;)

Scuttle drains are the main culprit, do a search for loads of info. Enters car through pollen filter. Have u checked under the front pass seat that the cent locking/elec window module isnt flooded-if yours is fitted there.

"One last burst of energy" is about all i have left. This car is going to be the death of me, never had so much grief from a 6 year old motor ever. Never mind, what needs to be done has to be done. How much is a stat from fords? stupid money i expect. Cheers all  -

HI..I cant see any reason why it doesnt flow through the rad. Ive done everything i can think of. Any suggestions, IM DESPERATE got to go on a long run soon and until this is sorted i dont want to risk it. PLEASE  -
Hi again. Ive changed the pump and stat, flushed the rad, refilled and bled the system and still no flow through the rad or bottom hose. I have a few ideas left, see what u think:- Pressure cap not sealing properly. Air lock. Engine just not getting hot enough? even though gauge reads 3/4 of the way over False gauge reading--Showing hotter than it is. Any further help gratefully recieved CHEERS  :( :D

Thanks for that m8 i will check into this <_<
-
HI. Does anyone know if a rad for a 1.9 tdi Sharan will fit my Galaxy?. GFS are cheapest place round my area for a new rad so i am hoping to save some cash.Cheers <_<
-
Thanks MM-- I will try that at the weekend hopefully that will sort it, but dont put any money on it, lol. On top of everything else i have had the dreaded screen washer tube joint flood. Passenger footwell soaked and taking ages to dry out. I cut out a large section of soundproofing and stuffing newspapers under the rest daily to soak up as much water as possible.  :) :)
-
GSMGuy-- The rad is the only thing i can put this prob down to. Ive eliminated everything else. Can the rad be reverse flushed in situ or does it need to be removed? I've got plenty of plastic sheet. How can i check that the core isn't collapsed? ANYONE????
-
HI ALL. Pump and stat etc fitted at last, been for a long test drive and no change. Still no water flow through the rad. Ive run out of ideas i hope u lot haven't. ignore previous post about pulley out of line, its OK.
-
HI. Fitted new pump and stat but didn't get finished-rained off. One question for u, when i fitted the pulley to the new pump its about 5mm off line with the crank and P/S pump pulleys will this be ok or have i a(nother) problem?. It took most of the day to fit it (had to go and get a new belt tensioner pulley and i dont fancy taking it all off again if i dont need to. Cheers all
