I have noticed that the paint starts to come unstuck from the surface of the sensor. I have scraped all mine off and the long sounding tone disappeared and they work fine now.

I have similar problems - has anyone got a wiring diagram and location of the cruise control parts

Hi I have a MKIII the control modual is under the right rear side panel and can be accessed by just taking the cover off. You have to look up inside. cost is about £80. sensors are about £40 from Ford. Sounds like it could be a module problem if no sensors vibrate. Get some one with a vag com to check for fault codes. I can let you have a list of fault code and a description of tests and a desicription of the system as a pdf file.

No this is on the mark three which are painted to match the colour of the car when manufactured

I have had the usual continuous beep problem from my parking sensors and tried all the simple tests - clicking - wiring etc. Then I noticed that the paint was bubbling on one of the sensors so I cleaned it all off. It was loose on the others so I cleaned it off them as well and what do know they are now working. Hope this might help others
