  1. I presume this a 2.3 Petrol. Mk1 Galaxy? If so, if I recall correctly the CC ECU is down to the left of the centre console, near the passenger footwell. These units are designed fail-safe so any hint of a problem and they will default to off (in my experience). I once had an intermittent problem on a W124Merc, solved by removing all the conformal coating on the ECU circuitboard (with Nitromors!) and re-soldering every joint. To my amazement it worked. hi mashbury, thank you for your reply...no its the 2.8 v6 4x4,your info is a great help, the cc failing on the galaxy seems to be quite a common thing, your method of resoldering the circuit board is what i would do..i intend to get to the bottom of this cc not working.. :) so thank you again..all the best..den.

  5. hi and thank you for your welcome msg chris...
  6. hi..i had this with the cd changer on my mk1..turned out to be the rollers that take in..and push out the cd...they stopped working..i fitted another changer unit..not worth messing about with..try another unit... good luck..den.
  7. greetings everyone..this is my first post on the site so hi to everyone...i would like to ask a question, and that is how easy is it to get to the cruise control ecu?..i removed the lower dash panel on the drivers side at the fuse box..hoping to be able to see and remove the cc ecu to change it for another one, however i cant see it...i have replaced the piping from the vac-pump under the wing,i have removed and tested the vac-pump..and thats working..i removed and had a look at the cc switch on the column, and thats ok all the wires are giving a reading on my AVO on the buzzer setting,i have checked the rubber servo near the brake pedal..and the switched on the brake pedal (its an auto)..and still the CC works when it thinks it will...one day nothing..the next day it will work..i wanted to do a wire check on every wire on the CC...with my meter..but i cant see the CC ECU..no doubt its in a tight place out of the way somewhere.. any help from any member would be most helpful...thank you regards den. :16:
