try having a look where the jack is kept, theres a connector in there, it may have come apart.

Yep im thinking this more and more, still not sure about the lights and brake indicator. Drove home after trying the wiper, hit a bump and it parked properly, so will whipe it open tomorrow.

Hi, ok going through a snag list on the Galaxy Mk1, when i start up the brake warning lights come up , the front 2 go out after a couple of seconds, the rear to go out after i press the brake peddle, now if i turn on the side lights the rear right indicator comes back on, turn of the light and it goes out? Ive also got a problem with the rear wiper not parking, took the unit out lunchtime ( no not for a drink!) used a bench PSU and it was running ok, re oiled the shaft and the curren dropped from 90 to 70ma @ 13.8 volts. Put it back in and it moves then stops the doesnt move then does and then parks eventually. I had a break in the rear brake light loom and fixed that, is it possible that the wiper looms faulty as well? any help would be recievd greatfully. Thanks

HI, just bought a MK1 2.3 Ghia, loving the vehicle. Ex VW transporter owner. Im just trying to work out what the dispalys show, the mileage counter only shows milage done and below that service ---- , the one on the right shows MPG this one seems to work, MPH which shows between 22 and 40 ( is this average speed?), one that has a number and a fuel pump( i presume this is how many miles i can got on the fuel remaining), a timer for the journey, but theres another clock display, which seems to be at about 60 hours. is there supposed to be a trip counter in miles? My cruise control isnt working at the mo, im changing the pipe tomorrow as the end had rotted away, but what do the buttons do on the indicator stick, are they suppose to reset the other clocks ( on the right hand display?). As i dont have a manual for it , im a bit in the dark. Could someone please explain thier operation to me. Thanks
