  1. Sorry to invade mk1 & 2 territory but there's no one around in the mk3 section! Anybody know how to remove a 2nd generation Sony stereo in a mk3 - it's the later type where you have to remove the plastic surround before hand. I can't work out what needs to come out first let alone where the fixings are!
  2. I want to remove my Sony 2nd gen stereo to fit a bluetooth kit - any idea how to remove the facia?
  3. I've just bought a mk3 2.0 TDCi Ghia (2008) and I'm really pleased with it. It's an excellent design both internally and externally and the engine is superb - 45mpg average with 6 large adults (not driving particularly carefully). Mine doesn't seem to have any reliability issues. Having had Audi's up to now I don't think that they have any less problems - but the dealer is generally good when it comes to fixing them. The mk2 was a great design in its day - I remember it coming out but it does now looks old fashioned - I can't believe VW still sell them (not for long though!). The new Galaxy is the only sensible choice if you're looking for a large mpv (imho) which carries upto 7 (which, btw, the S Max does not do comfortably - as great as it looks).
  4. Have you tried just playing a track on your phone once your phone has been paired? This is how it worked on my previous car... I do agree that the socket location in the glove box is not the most convienient!
  5. Thanks insider!
  6. I'm going to take that as a no. have just bought a Nokia CK100 and RNS-E to ISO adapter so it will integrate.
  7. Had to drive 6 adults 60 miles and got 45mpg - not driving particularly carefully. There are not many large cars which could do that kind of mileage carrying 6 adults - well done Ford!
  8. I picked up my two year old 2.0 TDCi Ghia yesterday and drove it home (having just bought it) and all was fine. I had asked the previous owner a few times if they had had any problems with the PAS, they said no. I gave the engine bay a bit of a clean (just wiped the covers with a rag), got in the car switched on the engine and 'power steering malfunction' flashed up for a few seconds. Since then it has not done it and the steering feels absolutely fine. Should I be worried? Also does this car have a 3 year warranty - the service book suggest 12 months??? Greatful for any replies!
  9. This is an old topic I know, but has anybody successfully retrofitted bluetooth to their mk3 with the Sony head unit? I mean using genuine parts not Parrot or Nokia handsfree.
  10. So my PAS might not go wrong and the handbrake might not fall apart... I was hoping that might be case!
  11. I'm picking up my 2 year old 2.0 TDCi Ghia next week on which I got a very good deal and am very excited. I've had Audi's and VW's upto now but I need something bigger and when I drove the Galaxy as a courtesy car last year I was very imprerssed. Okay - I've been told that Ford dealers are terrible and that...trim falls off, handbrakes fall to pieces, PAS breaks and electrics play up but are we talking 1 in 10000 or 1 in 10 for these problems? Could I get a 'good' one or will I definitely suffer?
