Had exactly the same problem last night 1/2 way to newmarket to pick up my wife & son in the snow wipers stopped working & reverse operation of the rear wiper, checked fuses after buying some at local garage-none blown! checked forum & found little daz answer, just waiting for the snow to stop to enable replacement. many thanks little daz from another grateful member. kp 115
  2. I've just done the same on my galaxy mk2 for the same reason , I paid less than half the fraud price for my factory fresh leather one, easy job if you follow the instruction on FAQ or Tis, took all of 15 mins start to finish.
  3. just had my eyes tested, long range ok but do require reading glasses now!
  4. it might also be worth checking your vacuum hoses as it may be a leaking hose or pipe disconected as this can cause similar symptoms.
  5. It is infact the relay that controls the intermitant wipe function & this is common to a lot of older audi's & vw cars

  8. Does anybody else notice a distortion in text ie number plates or sign written vans etc when the heated front screen is switched on ? this dissapears as soon as the screen is switched off !

  11. Just to say thanks Littledaz I've also had this problem for a number of months without realising what it was, I've just ordered the parts & tools to do the job, if anyone needs to borrow the spline drive I'm in suffolk/cambs area keith.

  13. 2 Questions have you changed your coolant recently - what colour is it now as I believe you should be using vag G12 coolant which doesn't like being mixed with other types.

  16. can anybody recommend a supplier for the cable for vag-com preferably USB apart from ross-tech , yes I have looked on e bay but advice on suitability & wether it worked correctly would be most useful. many thanks Keith.

  18. might be worth checking www.millersoil.net as they do a range of oils that are VW approved & a fair price. they may do one for your VR6. PS. no connection to the company. I thought I would reply as you had as many replies as my oil flushing post! Keith.
  19. having owned 3 audis previously that went to the 200k mark without even a new clutch cable -good build quality I tend to agree
  20. Heres one for the Experts! Do the lenses of the headlight come apart from the main unit as I can see 2 small clips on the cover? The reason being I have a stange mark on the inside of the lamps which I think is dirt , does anyone else suffer from this? Thanks Keith.

  23. B) Thanks everybody for your input & Imust agree that it does take mine about 4-5 miles to warm up , but as I only travel 12 miles eachway it's cold for the first half of the jouney, perhaps I should get the VR6 version! thanks again keith. :ph34r:
  24. Has anyone tried/experimented with covering the radiator grille in cold weather & short journeys to try & raise the temperature quicker ? thanks.
  25. seaking advice ! is it advisable to use a flushing oil in the PD engine prior to an oil change many thanks in advance keith.
