  1. Hi all Just wondering if the Mk 1 and Mk 2 rear brake calipers are interchangeable. Have a leaking seal on the rear NS caliper and the local scrap yard only has Mk 1's available. Or has anyone changed the caliper seals on a MK 2 rear NS caliper? The seal that is gone is the one behind the spring / bolt infront of the handbrake cable mechanism as shown in the attached.
  2. Hi attachment is not displaying. Can you please re attach?
  3. Used the Halfords option as I live in the arse end of nowhere with no Air Con specialists anywhere. System workin @ about 80% now but will make the journey next time to a person in the know.

  8. Better get an extra pack of elastoplast, butterfly stitches and bandages LOL :o
  9. OK been giving the vehicle wellie in 2nd and 3rd yet the problem is still intermittant :-( So gonna try more wellie with detergent as suggested. If this fails how long should the removal of the turbo, its clean down and refit take - time wise including going indoors for plasters because no doubt if it's ford its a b*tch. Oh and is the VNT part of the turbo? hmm wa exactly is a VNT?
  10. So when the turbo is being oversped if I simply switch off the engine an restart it again this will limit the damage until it is fixed - correct? Thx for all the helpful feedback
  11. thanks mirez just re read your post and saw the answers are already there - too many distractions with the kids :
  12. thats the reply i was looking for instead of paying out for a new / recon turbo. Will give it welly as suggested and report bakc if it doesn't resolve for more ideas. What makes the vains stick anyway - town driving and low revs? Thanks guys (for now anyway) ;-)
  13. Hi all, Was trying to verify the mpg for the galaxy (1.9 TDi) after buying one recently. As the dash diesel gauge edged towards the red the light came on while going up a hill - only 1 mile from service station. Anyway the power dropped from the engine because diesel low i thought. So put 10 in and all was fine. Next week powerloss returned and has done on a few occasions since (every few days). Switch off and back on all OK for a while. 1. Sounds like the start of Turbo problem? 2. A diesel filter change required? How many filters are on the car - just one in the engine compartment? Is there one in the diesel tank? etc etc 3. Something else? Bit concerned as a friend has a Mk2 1.9 TDi she had same prob and needed new turbo and engine as she drove it without getting it sorted quick enough. Guidance appreciated. John
  14. Thanks guys for the info. Havent had the system checked by AC eng thought I might save a few pennies if I could check a few things myself first. Plus give me an excuse to familiarize my self with the vehicle.
  15. Sorry forgot to mention my Galaxy is a Jan 2001 1.9 TDi
  16. Once you have downloaded the RS links from http://katz.cd/download/4896491/App/Ford-T...ystem-Ford-TIS/ Download winrar from http://rarlabs.com/rar/wrar393.exe Download Virtual Clone drive from http://static.slysoft.com/SetupVirtualCloneDrive.exe Right mouse click on the first file '/Ford_TIS_-_by_Unknown.part01.rar' and select where you wish to extract to. Once the files have been re compiled open the file with Virtual Clone drive click install. The TIS program is now installed and ready for use. Remember you will have to file mounted with Virtaul clone drive to use the program. Let me know if this is helpful or you need further guidance
