Can anyone tell me the rough price i should be expected to get for my Galaxy its on

DVD now running through the stereo-without cutting off...God im good ;-) Not sure what i did different....only thing i can think of is under the central console there is a plug that goes into one of two green sockets...i changed it from the one to the other...and it now plugged into the one nearest the console-as opposed to nearest the handbrake Now i a happy bunny ;)

Hi Spiral Did you get an answer/fix for your problem? I have a factory fitted MMS in an 05 Galaxy and one of the screens comes to life but does not display pictures. Think I need a new screen according to local In Car Entertainment specailist. - Ford probabaly wickedly expensive! AJB Ive jst spend 3 hours fixing my MMS in 2001 Galaxy, got it al working and running through the stereo speakers only to get bk in the back seat and passenger screen wasnt working, i reunscrewed the centre console and found the black plug wasnt in properly...pushed it in and all running great now! Hi all Ive got my Galaxy up for sale-cant stand the leather seats lol ;) If you read my earlier postings youl see ive managed to put indash DVD player replacing the factory fitted VCR player My problems is The headphone jacks in centre console dont work-ya can hear a buzzing sound coming through so there IS power getting through but no DVD sound-was the same with the VCR Ive wired a cable to the front of my aftermarket stereo so i now have sound via the stereo speaker via AUX setting on stereo But the screens only work if the stereo is on Radio (Tuner) and screens cut off after a minute or two but the sounds carry on. Anyone know where the power cable for the screens are? So i can cut it and power it through the DVD player instead Only got 5 days left on ebay so need to sort it ASAP or il have to cancel the auction Any speedy help gratefully recieved ;)

Forgot to add The extra bonus with the DVD in dash is that I can use the blanking cover from where i took the standard Ford stereo out and it fits nicely over the top of the DVd player when not in use...so to the nosey eye it jst looks like a standard face off CD player with the blank spacer onto!! Is it the same as the MK1 ?. I'm breaking my MK1 and have just removed the mechanism this morning. MK1 and MK2 are different...Im having same problem All my local breakers have plenty of MK1's but no MK2's I guy on ebay offered me a Mk2 wiper but he wants

Four days, a useless Auto Electrician and 13 hours later I have the DVD up and running, but bonus is the DVD running through the Stereo!! After blowing a fuse the other day, I booked an auto-electrician to have a look. Insider (FOC User) advised me it was fuse 32 that had blown, so I changed that but still found it brain damage to insert the after market DVD player so decided to wait for the Electrician. He seemed to know what he was doing and sent us inside so he could do the job. After he spent 3 hours trying to put new DVD player in, He ended up just velcroing the DVD playing to the bottom of the VCR and run extra phono leads under the edge of the doors and put other end of the phonos into the front of the centre console and charged me

I have changed the VCR player to DVD in my mk2 Galaxy When pluggin in headphone into the centre console I can hear the DVD but its very very quiet Connected audio cable from centre console to AUX plug in my Sony stereo. I can hear the DVD sounds thrrough the stereo but after a minute or so its shuts off the DVD player and screens. I know originally you needed the Ford stereo on to use the Multimedia player but now it seems i can only use the DVD player when i have the radio on and not CD or Ipod.... Also When we took the Ford stereo out there was a lonely PURPLE wire into the back of the stereo....anyone have any ideas what thats for? Sammie

You can :) X,Y and 51 plates could have both spec'd - it wasn't until 02 that they realised it wasn't such a good idea! My 2001 (Y) has screens but no rotating seats...if they have i cant work out how to rotate them :lol:

Hi After you saying about the trip resetting someone else had same problems he said was an engine management fuse but couldn't remember number just had a look in the book seems a few possibilities try fuse 28, 31, 32, 34 32 and 34 are engine management so i shall check that moro....its a lil bit dark now lol Also...when comparing the fuses in the box to the fuses in the owners manual...at least the first 4 fuses are wrong....for instance, in book fuse 1 should be 10amp, but in the car its 3amp fuse 2 should be 5 but in car its 10 amp fuse 3 should be 10 but its 5amp Told the missus i wanted to pull ALL the fuses out and replace them how they are in the book but coz theres gaps in the fuse box she said its not best idea lol Got Auto-electrician coming out tomorrow to fit CD changer, new stereo and DVD player so ill leave it all with him...ill update tomorrow evening with a very empty wallet :) Thanks for the replies anyway Sammie

Hi Sammie your havin loads a fun with this motor I'll try not to mention that humerous clutch :lol: that DVD player subjecting it to reverse polarity you may have blown a milli amp fuse inside the player can you test the wiring going to it with a voltmeter or test light. Have all these other problems arisen since you been messing about with the VCR/DVD I wouldn't think they was related the central locking can be the wiring harness through door pillar to drivers door. Does the lighting work on the central panel switches, heater contro,l light in the analogue clock door window switches? No its no fun anymore lol If some b*****d hadnt stolen my Alhambra i wouldnt be in this situation. Anyway...Im wondering if maybe the central locking could be a result of droppin my keys in dogs water bowl (??) Yes all the lighting works on everything else...eg shows wen handbrake on, window switches etc al fine, doors open,etc etc...dnt recall a light on my clock...but its not there if it did lol Also the trip meter keeps resetting itself everytime i turn engine off.....i usually reset it wen fill diesel tank up and keep eye on my mileage...but it keeps going bk to 0!! Its all jst way above my head...looks like im calling out auto-electrician moro :) TY for replying (again ;) )

Recently purchased 2001 Galaxy Ghia TDI The VCR in back was chewing up the videos, cleaned with head cleaner then would only play for 2 seconds. Decided to replace with DVD player Bought new DVD player off Ebay, took VCR out, connected DVD but didnt check connections properly...I connected live to ground and ground to live so its blown a fuse SOMEWHERE...check all the fuses and they all fine Radio working fine but no power to VCR or screens... Was getting dark last night so left it Decided a second attempt today...still cant find blow fuse But now have realized that there is a problem with central locking...when i press LOCK button it locks all the doors bar the drivers door...when i press UNLOCK it locks the drivers door but unlocks rest of car And now ive realized the dash lights dnt work...the lights come on to show handbrake etc but the backlighting when i turn on main headlights dont work...headlights etc fine Also analogue clock not working either Fuse for clock is fine Checked Galaxy owner guide for fuses and cannot find any for console unit Any ideas?? I have 2001 Mk2 TDI Ghia Since had car (2-3weeks) Ive been trying to get screens and VHS player to work-to start with player just chewed all tapes up....bought a head cleaner, now player only plays for 2 seconds before going back into standby mode Decided to replace with DVD player...who watched videos in 2001 anyway??? Anyway, DVD was delivered today http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT Disconnected VHS and connected the DVD player but no power...Reconnected VHS-no power I didnt think to check the wires... The plug from VHS has 3 wires...red (live), black (ground) and orange (??) The DVD plug has 2...red and black Also the plug from DVD and plug from VHS are different so think ive connected Live to Ground/Ground to Live...this possibly why Ive lost all power....checked radio fuse-its fine...so where is other fuse? Also...what is the orange wire for that goes into VHS?? Could it be for the screens or some sort of AUX power? With the DVD being an indash player I've now decided to take the Ford radio out, put my own Sony bluetooth in with the DVD player underneath...theres a small gap but ill fix that...with the VHS running off the radio is it going to be as simple of buying ISO lead to fit and thats it?? How will the screens link to the indash DVD?? Also Ive got a JVC multichanger being delivered tomorrow....how does that fit into all this??? Think I'm WWAAAAAAYYY above my head but Im hoping someone on here will be able to help me lol Thanks for reading my essay pmpl

No its not on all the time, goes off shortly after i start driving..or until i stall again :)

It only checks exterior lights what year is your car and spec Thats what i thought its 2001 Ghia TDI

Hey all, Me again!! Clutch issues this time. Ive noticed last week or so that when I press Clutch when going UP the gears it sounds like the clutch is laughing at me-a kind of hyena laugh!! Makes me chuckle every time but not sure its a laughing matter Clutch and dual mass Flywheel were changed 85k (currently 95k) Could it be thrust bearing? Sammie
