  5. Hey! Went to see Chris today (Thank you so so much) Turns out I was sold a dodgy ECU..Chris plugged his in and they kicked in straight away! Was SOOOO pleased there wasn't a wiring problem! All plastics are now all back to beige and looking funky-even if I do say so myself! Now just have to get the leather seats looking nice and clean and she's al ready for pictures!! If anyone hears of mk2 breaking and they have parking sensor ECU up for grabs gissa Shout ;-)
  6. Hey All! My OH has just bought a new car (Honda Civic EX) She didn't like her standard key so looked on eBay and bought a nice Flip case (
  7. Hi All, I hope this sorts the problem for you but any chance you could post the result for us on here, the suspense is killing me. Good luck, Snowytop Hey Snowytop Thought id update-sort of Still no luck with the parking sensors (as yet) had few other elctrical problems over the weekend and the fan/blowers decided to pack up, which meant i couldnt clear my steamy windows to drive down to test the "working" sensors out off Chris' Gal but Ive just got to the bottom of it-there was completely wrong fuses in the car so theyve all been taken out and refitted to the manual and now my blowers are all working again! im going to message Chris again now and see if its possible to see him later this week and i shall let you know! Now to just instal the new DVD player and other than the sensors shes all good to be refitted with the newly sprayed plastics ready to go up for sale Sammie
  8. Would you really??? That would be fantastic! Wish I'd checked site earlier, just driven back to Dartford from Chatham! I'm around Monday if your free? Really appreciate it! At least that way I can work out if it is the ECU or wiring! Ya a diamond :)
  9. Yeh suppose I don't know how long the car had been there that the ECU had come off...maybe the plugs have become wet too...I'll try get my hands on a "known working" ECU asap! Thanks for the reply Kev
  10. Couldn't believe the "babies" being thrown around in the back seats! That's scary! Those seats-especially the rear facing newborn one-it was squashed! Makes me wonder whether baby really is safer in the back or the front-at least upon front impact there's front airbags to protect her and break part of her impact-in the back they just thrown around like ragdolls! Also I think with that kind of impact ALL the air bags should go off-front and sides! That way there's more protection in high impact...obviously low impact then mainly front ones are needed... Maybe thats just me lol! Think th mk3 looks so much better than mk1 and mk2 by a long shot! I'm now in two minds of mk3 or smax!! Choices choices!!
  11. Hey all After six months my dear Gal brings me back to the good old FGOC :) I had a little leakage problem last week thanks to the rear water washer pipe disconnecting-48 hours and 10 litres of washer water later and my passenger footwell was a pool for the little duckies! Pulled carpet up, cut out the soundproofing and replaced it-thought be quicker than trying to dry it all out! Three days later was all dry enough to put back together and was all happy happy again-or so i thought! When i turned the ignition on the parking sensor light was coming on and staying on with the ignition-but no beepers when i need it :) 15 miles down the road the rear sensor made a funny noise for about quarter of a mile (whilst i was driving)and nothing since! Now the light has gone out! We have purchased a another ECU from the breakers and still nothing, was considering it maybe the speaker that needs replacing too but that wouldnt stop the light coming on would it?? And im doubtful 2 ECU's wouldnt be working...Im tempted to try another ECU from a Gal we know for sure does work (Any offers?) Other than that Any ideas??
  12. Apparently the 15inch wheels have 288mm and 16inch have 300mm...well mine are 16's so technically they SHOULD be 300mm...but i will find out shortly! No need for the extra :P :P :P :P 's i knew ya was jesting
  13. Wel the missus just measured for me and its 26mm...she measured wrong bit, she thought she was measuring the thickness of the disc lol Its raingin now but when it stops il take wheel off and have a butchers lol Thanks for the pretty picture tho
  14. Hey Me Again! When I purchased my Gal in March, there was advisory with the MOT to say brake discs and pads ALL ROUND need replacing ( OUCH)...Ive done a further 8000miles since and have another Wales trip coming up so need to change them all before I go! Kwikfit want
  15. Hmm so now it seems i have another padicament Keep the screens means keeping the cream :-( It ditch the whole lot and buy new screens later??!! Gosh this is working out all to much brain damage jst to p!nk my ride!! Why cant the pink jst look nice with cream pmpl
  16. Yup, fully interchangeable. Ya a diamond...thanks x Watch this space for me getting replacements then ill let you know about selling them Only problem is my front seats have the screens...are they easily changed?
  17. 18. As im sure you will all know by previous postings but ive decided to ditch the leather Been to all my local breakers and a few in Wales whilst visiting family....noone has any mk2 galaxys in but plenty of mk1's Anyone know if mk1's seats will fit mk2??
  19. sammie look under vw sharan and seat alhambra aswell, dont know whether they are different???but worth a look :o Was at breakers in Newport (Wales) whilst visiting family, popped to breakers there, asked him if he had mk2 GALAXY, "yeh yeh yeh hold on 2 mins", 45mins later he comes up with a VW mk2, i said its not gonna fit, he swear black in white that it would...i assured him we'd already checked it! Took mine apart there and then! and it DIDNT fit! He then claimed ID changed it from mk2 to mk1 and i had mk1 mech!! Where the hell he got that info from was past me! LOL total toss pot! And to top it off, he dropped a car off the back of the truck and it threw a stone up and dented passenger rear door and claimed it was already there!! W****R lol Oh wel, another day another life :)
  20. PURSE???? i dnt use a purse i use a wallet :o The missus has convinced me to try the dye on the mats/carpets first seeing as they will soooo much cheaper to replace Then maybe have a go at a door card...Maybe if i do the rest and put covers over the seats il be bit happier...Time will tell....waiting for the Autoglym to be delivered...good old fleabay...shop from the comfort of the sofa :) Gonna have a shop arund to find best leather dye if thats the route im going to go down but one step at a time Thanks for the replies B)
  21. I am keeping the car....but the decison is whether i keep the leather is the problem Anyone ever used the Autoglym dye?? Im scared but curious lol
  22. Gregers, it is mk2...but you have competition :P Mirez emailed me the other day when he saw i was selling the car to get rid of the leather etc Ive promised him if i get rid of it completely then he had first refusal My idea at mo...after trailing all 30 pages of customising....is possibly dyeing the leather black-everything-door cards, etc and then putting covers on th seats to get rid of th leather...that way if in th future i decide to sell th gal im not gonna lose money on it But in two minds at mo coz its a heavty replacement if it dnt go nicely! At the moment im awaiting a phone call to take th car to menders after some f-idiot reversed into me at Tescos carpark yesterday...need new bumper, new reg plate and grill!! Until thats done im not thinking to much any further But il keep ya both in mind Sammie
  23. Right, been change of plan and Im keeping my 2001 Gal-even though some b*****d reversed into me in my local Tescos garage and crunched my bumper this afternoon-will be fixed soon enough! The condition on keepin her is the cream leather HAS to go!! Cream Leather+Kids+Chocolate+Sticky Sweets=RIGHT MESS!! I know one way or another I can rehome the seats/door cards-whether on here on fleabay Door cards will easily be replaced Mats easily replaced CARPETS---is it easy enough to take up and replace with Black or Dark Grey? is it much hassle to do? Would help very much if Ford would release the rights to MK2 Haynes Manual! Cream Plasticy dash---How do i get rid of that? its like a vinyl type material so original plan to sand and repaint/spray is out of the question-can i get a another type of vinyl covering to go over? Simular sort of material around the back of the car-in "boot"...again easily covered/recoloured? And then theres the cream cloth head lining??? Any advice gratefully recieved!! Bare in mind I'm young(ish) female, new driver that knows very little about cars so plain simple english (even though Im welsh :P ) would be great... Thanks in advance I'l await some wonderful ideas :) Sammie
