  1. Dont know if this will help but i changed my tyre/wheel size too and run the standard pressure of the original 215 55 16s shown in the petrol cap, and so far so good i have even wear across the tyre after a year of use.
  2. Thank you that's kind of what i wanted to hear :-) makes more sense. It was due a cambelt soon anyway so not a bad thing! thank's again :42:
  3. Hiya Don't know if any one can help but i have a 1.9tdi galaxy y reg that started over heating, but if you parked up with the engine still running it would cool down. The engine was hot and all coolent pipe's were hot except the one from the thermostat housing to the radiator which was cold! The radiator was cold too and no heat through the vent's when heater was on.I have removed the thermostat and now the pipe from the housing and the rad it self is getting warm but still no warm air inside the car even though temp gauge was half way and although the car was fine for the last week without the thermostat it has started over heating again so i am now thinking head gasket! but is there anything else i should look for 1st? i checked thermostat in boiling water and it is definitly faulty. thank's for reading mark
  4. Had this happen to mine and was told it would be alright but only managed 6 miles and the bolt came through the casing :-(
  5. sorted! :) the new arm's will not work but i removed the tip's (with a bit of heat) and cut my original wiper arm's down and welded the tip's onto them instead. they work well and give a slighty newer look to the car.
  6. I brought a high rise thule for mine and am very impressed. It bolt's up tight and don't slide around, it does not cover the rear light's or reg plate so no need for a light board. The bike's are kept in place by solid bar's at the top which secure and lock the frame's and the wheel's are strapped on the runner's. I carried 4 bike's on it for around 1000 miles on holiday and the only fault i could find with it was opening the rear door (made it heavy to lift).
  7. just make sure your wheel bolts are long enough i had to buy some that were 5mm longer!
  8. Hiya i have an early x reg mk2 galaxy and wanted the later style wiper blades, i have brought the new wiper's with arm's and although they fit on o'k i can not get them to clear each other when in use. Has anyone else tried this? tried looking but could'nt find any old post's about it! thank's mark
  9. i've just fitted a set of golf r32 alloy's with 235 40 18 XL and fitted fine, had to get longer vw wheel bolt's which i got of ebay with locking wheel nut kit which cost me
  10. OUCH!!! no not that bad luckily enough, got a 10mm hole in the bottom and the bolt has kind of plugged it. used some chemical metal to seal it to get it back and gears all seamed fine driving it home so gonna weld it soon as i get what i need to convert my mig.
  11. bolt found its way out the bottom of the box :-(
  12. it was the selector a bolt had snapped on the internal side of it. wasn't to bad to take off but mean's i have a bolt head sitting in my gear box that i am hoping to fish out with a magnet.
  13. Hi all, was parking my galaxy up 'its a mk2 2.3 manual petrol' and the gear stick went loose and is now stuck in reverse. cables and selector are moving fine under the bonnet but assume it's the selector that's at fault? has anyone come accross this before? have seen a new ford item on ebay for
  14. looks really nice :( how does it drive on 18s? just got a set of r32 alloy's and a set of 235 40 18s to go on but they need a refurb 1st.
