  1. Cant find it bud
  2. How much Transmission oil would I need for this car ?
  3. Thanks Grwgers, I hope someone can point me in the right direction to be honest, I do hope its not the gearbox clutch as that would be well over a grand to sort. I am trying to find a specialist Garage who deal with these issues but cannot find one round Burnley, I would have thought there would be someone apart from Ford. I cannot "like " youre post Gregers as it says I have exceeded my positive posts for the day,,( dont know why cos its my first post in ages) lol.
  4. Mine is slipping intermittently in second gear or third but not so bad the gear is a little stiff too. how much is the fluid for a mark 2 02 Plate Galaxy?
  5. I have a Galaxy reg. No 02 plate what mark is this? I assume its the mark 2 or 3 but not sure.. My Galaxy is an 1.9 TDi Ghia Auto and is a good runner , recently however it has started to rev. up after changing gears as though the clutch is slipping intermittently, does anyone know what it could be? TIA
  6. Hi Gregers, Hows it going? :) I would like to know if I could buy an exhaust from ebay for my Galaxy cos the bugger has just corroded off, mechanics son ( mechanic on holiday) says middle and back section needed. I don't know if these will fit on my Galaxy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-GALAXY-1-9-TDI-1995-2003-Silencer-Exhaust-System-/160800213192 which is an auto 1.9 tdi 115 BHP Ghia , I think its 02 plate. I'm taking it for an Mot tommorrow as it needed taxing and when I got to post office they said mot expired. :angry2: I think mine is a mark 2, but not too sure. I thought I'd ask in here before buying anything.TIA
  7. No flashing lights again today,, this is becoming an intermittent problem, I hope it really isn't summat serious and it really is the switch.
  8. By the way I had the glow plug lights again today, dammit. will firstly dw40 the break switch and see if that cures it.
  9. AAh yes can see the info now but you missed the year it's 02, thanks again
  10. What did you update I can't see any changes , sorry if I'm a little slow. Why the lines through my writing now??
  11. I have a MK2 Auto Galaxy 1.9TDi 115 BHP, The question I have is, is there any maintenance specifically for the Auto gearbox or not, I have been told the gearbox is sealed and no maintenance required until it goes tits up.
  12. Well, update the glow plug flashing lights have miraculously gone off, I did'nt even have the time to check if brake lights were off etc. My car is 1.9 TDi Auto Ghia model ( sorry seatkid) with cruise control and I have had a problem with the switch before and changed it as CC dont work if switch faulty. Noticed today that the lights that illuminate the gear no.s in the dash were fading at one side for a while, then after a few hours these were also ok again, wtf. I found plenty on glow plug lights in the searches by the way gregers thanks.
  13. Do I take that answer to mean it could be a number of things or not?
  14. I started the car yesterday and when I set off a bleep came from the dash and then the glow plug light started flashing, is this something big or not, and can I sort it myself, if possible. Thanks
  15. Is there any maintenance other than changing oil on the Auto gearboxes? The gearbox in question is on mine a 2001/2002 plate Galaxy 1.9 tdi.
  16. I managed to get the 'other'loom in today and it looks good so far , the other side has only 2 wires that need attention, so I may just splice them in situ, The question left is if I install a BSI unit from another galaxy then does it require programming etc.? If so how much does this cost to do, as it's probably only a ford garage that can do it? Thanks
  17. Well I have managed to get the loom out and was getting ready to solder the wiring when a friend said he'd found a whole loom out of a galaxy from the breakers yard he works at. The loom is in very good nick which is surprising , main reason I did'nt go myself to a breakers was that I was under the presumtion second hand ones would be all the same with the same probs. Lucky me I guess,, The loom is from the other side of the car ie. offside passenger should'nt make a difference iir. the connections will need some kind of contact cleaner as the have been in the car for a wee while , anyone recommend anything for this? 1 question regarding the BSi unit, (this friend has also managed to get hold of a BSI unit out of a galaxy) will it need de-coding/programming at ford garage or not and how much do they charge ? if anyone knows. Tia
  18. I will try using another browser. Thanks
  19. Detailed instructions for Reparing wires in Door gaiters Can someone tell me why the above link doe'snt work in Faqs,,, my wireing is nearly stripped to bare wire, and it would be helpfull, it's possibly the only link that does'nt work. Thanks
  20. Yo, gregers howsit angin,, it's not about winning my fine feathered friend, it's about quality and politicshttp://www.jonrb.com/emoticons/yoda.gif But I'll take your advice and have a look at faqs
  21. Hey ,maybe there are good fords out there , i've yet to see one cos since my childhood [cortinas-capri's-etc,etc] ford cars were a bundle of faults and the owners were constantly in the gareage, I bought this after reading that most cars nowadays have similar reliability, but not pleased to find out the fords are the same garage lovers, OK an argument could be that it does'nt break down as much as the older fords but garages they still love. And another thing I bought a ford with the presumption that being british I maybe wrong the parts would be reasonable but they prove me wrong again. I was originally going for a mark 1 VW sharon and should really have followed that through cos I believe they were built better and less stuff to go wrong. maybe I'm wrong on that but thats my opinion. The only plus I give to this is the drive is good and the reliability ie cold starts etc. but all newer car or most are good in that aspect now. I think from now on I'm going to go for older models with less to go wrong like my phones which are exactly that phone and not little computers and cameras B) -- no electric windows no CC etc.etc. summat were I can change the bulbs without going to the garage or coming on a forum on how to do it. Rant over, thanks for listening :18:
  22. My sh1tlaxy was bought from a manager of a car sales garage, it was in spik condition untill all hell broke loose, he probably timed the sale just right. The car wants to go to the garage evry other thing, and I hate cars like that, getting rid of this beast soon , if someone stupid enough to buy it. cheers
  23. Recently the alarm on my mark 2 galaxy has been going off randomly, and yesterday it did it in the middle of the night, who made these sh1t cars and why?? The light on the car door flashes aprox. once a second or a little faster, anyone know what this could be? FFS it's one thing after another. The temp. does'nt get hot for ages and now after thermostat changed the mechanic says it could be sensor as it still takes ages and temp. gauge is fluctuating, the auxillary heater I have disconnected has dramatically improved the fuel as it was constantly on before even when car was stopped eating the fuel up for fun.( Disconnected it because changed 2 plugs on it previously and the 3rd started smoking at 50quid a smack what a fooking rippoff. The radio aint working, the cables in the door were torn and windows did't work. I have a BSI unit without one relay cos it was burnt out and the mechanic disconnedted it giving room for the excuse it's probably that for everything that goes wrong. The AC does'nt work cos the first time I took it in to garage whe I bought it the mechanic showed me the part on the bottom for AC that had nearly corroded to death so disconnected it. FFS
  24. I took it to a garage today and found some wiring problem, wires that looked like they were cut and some were melting the insulation of the others. Anyway after sorting that out the windows resumed operation but the bottom lights on the doors etc did not go off when doors locked. Further investigation revealed on the Fuse PCB board a relay had some overheat marks on it, Now I need a new PCB/fuse board or if I can get a relay for it solder one on.... What suggest you peeps. TIA You were bob on Gregers, about the wiring in the doors, nice one mate.
  25. daahh, OK got it now , Thanks elder.
