  1. did you get time to see if they would fit a mk1? they look really cool, just what i'm looking for.
  2. Wow, thats the spirit! Hope the following helps? Seats - yes they are interchangeable, I have 1 fitted in my Shazza with no mod's needed either. Pop-out rear windows are exactly the same motors & trim panels, so can also be changed (i've done this also.) If i find anything else i'll let you know! it'd be worth trying to get a copy of ETKA, you can then cross reference parts to see what could be interchangeable. Best of luck.
  3. When I fitted the Cruise Control to my car the wiring connections were near to the new switch along the top end of the steering column.
  4. Is there any kind person out there that has a haynes manual, & could scan the page with the wiring diagram for the heated windscreen relay please? I'm struggling to understand the VW & Ford current flow diagrams. With this last piece of info, i should be able to get everything working (fingers crossed!).
  5. VR6 - Thanks for all your help so far, you've been a star! El Dingo - cheers for info' looks very useful, i should be able to get it all working soon. :( :(
  6. Hi VR6! The loom differences makes sense now, That'll be why the relay housing does not fit into the relay board. Thanks.
  7. But my car is a MK1. :) things don't seem very promising...
  8. looks cool to me.
  9. Here are some pics of the fusebox as well. fusebox front fusebox 2nd level fusebox 2nd level reversed fusebox 3rd level
  10. I've had another look this evening, & it still makes no sense to me. Please see pic's attached. Where do these go? Where does this go? I'm very confused now. all help appreciated...
  11. Cheers for help & advice so far. I should get a few mins this weekend to go scrabbling under the dash, if i still have no luck working it out, then i'll post as many pic's as i can.
  12. Hi Gooner52. Cheers for the fast rsponse. Thats where i thought it should be, but i only have the ETKA CD. i could still do with some wiring diag's if anyone has them?
  13. Hi All. I've almost finished my latest retrofit project. I've had a heated windscreen fitted, installed the switch, bought the required loom & relay from VW, & attempted to install the loom. I've run the loom under the dash & connected the fittings to both sides of the screen, & connected the relay. Now i still have a 3way multi connecter to attach (not too sure where to) & 3 single wires that might go into the fusebox, but i'm not sure. Problem is, i cant find a wiring diagram so i can finish plugging it all in. Has Anyone done this before & can offer advice, or post the required diagram or pic's? please. Thanks in advance.
  14. Ecotek - I bought one, and fitted it to my 1.8 Golf a few years ago. In hindsight i must have been blinded by the advertising, cos it made no difference to the performance or the economy! The only thing it did achieve was to add a little hiss when you took your foot off the gas. In my humble opinion save your money. :D :D :D
  15. That sounds about right. Although If i remember correctly you might need to run an additional cable, seem to recall seeing this mentioned before, especially with the MK2. best of luck! :D
  16. I've just fitted the Eibach kit a couple of weeks ago. Took me almost 6 hours in a mates garage with a four post lift. Mainly due to everything being seized! The Shazza now sits 35mm lower all round, and is great to drive, cornering is vastly improved. It is well worth doing as the ride is barely compromised at all. Just allow yourself plenty of time... ;) ;) :o :)
  17. on mine the wiring was in place, just tied into the loom about a foot below where the hinges/ motors locate on the body. it was a simple case of 'plug n play' for me. for anyone else looking at this mod', the motors & trim panels are the same for the MK1 & MK2. ;)
  18. The glass is the same for manual or electric windows, it is secured with one philips head screw from the inside of the vehicle. Don't forget, you will also need the plastic trim panels to cover the motors with from the donor car.
  19. Are these tyres directional or just the standard type?? yes they are directional.
  20. If you need tyres, i've recently fitted Falken ZE 512 215/55/16 to all 4 corners of my shazza, and @ 60 quid each (without fitting) they seem like a bargain. I've done a few thousand miles on them now, and i dont notice any difference from the dunlop 2020 sports that i had on the car before. they do have rim protection, so they are great for when the wife uses the car! http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/reifenbestell...-102963&dsco=10 oh, and you can get discount for being a member of this forum. <_<
  21. When you find it, do tell. global closure, is that part of the standard central locking / alarm system? cos i've not really noticed that!
  22. I've done it! at last. It was quite easy really, you do not need to change the glass. First remove seatbelt retaining bolts, then 'D' post covers. The loom was already in place, so I changed the manual window catches for the motors. Unscrewed the catches from the windows (1 screw) and attached the motor arms. Next connect the looms, they will only fit 1 way round. Had to fit different pillar covers, to cover the motors, but they just snap into place. Next i fitted the switch in the dash & plugged in the loom. Hey Presto! job done. time teken - about an hour. Just for reference: I bought the parts from a breakers, They were fitted to a 2002 model (mk2) but they are the same part numbers as fitted to the mk1. except the switch which i bought from the vw dealer. 23. Hi Matt. I've been using a tuningbox for close to 18months now, & its fantastic. have a look at www.tuningbox.com, the thing does exactly what is says on the tin! At first i noticed less mpg, then after the novelty of all that extra ooomph, it returned to normal (41-43mpg). it apparently changed my 110bhp to 135bhp. very easy to fit, and you get an immediate, very noticable change. i'd recommend fitting one time & time again. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
  24. I agree with MM. I had the same problem, fitted a 10A mini fuse & mine seems to work better now.
  25. If your only after the electronic parts books with exploded diagrams etc, then try typing ETOS or VW ETOS into your search engine. If your into 'peer to peer' then try search in there as well. I did this a couple of months ago and downloaded it. Works fine for me. <_<
