mk2 surly thats a difference of 1.15mm or am i getting this all wrong?

saif, i've just found conflicting websites too, lol, i wonder what i found first was rolling raduis? Sounds as if i could have been wrong?

was the info i got from that website right, and was i right in thinking it was stating rolling radius?

I have just found out that the standard 215/55 r16 wheel and tyre has a rolling radius of 642mm and the the tyres i would fit to a new set of 18's would be 235/40 r18 which has a rolling radius of 645mm, surely 3mm difference would hardly effect the speedo reading if at all?????

Has anyone that has fitted larger aftermarket wheels had their speedo recalibrated after they have had the wheels fitted? Cheers Rob.

Also will the rolling radius change as i'm 'uping' in wheel size but 'downing' in tyre size as i don't wanna effect the speedo mph reading?

Hi peeps, i'm thinking on a nice set of new alloy wheels at the moment, the two different styles i have in mind are rs6 (which i have seen on the mk2 and quite like) and new rs4's, any thoughts on the better looking for a mk2. Also the sizing, 18's or 19's, i will drop the Gal on gmax springs soon but dont want any tyres rubbing on arches when fully loaded etc.. Does any one have a pic of a mk2 Gal on new rs4's?? If it is a water leak dont forget to top the water up before you drive to the garage and keep a close eye on that temp gauge!

If your getting the white smoke/steam straight from cold i think you could rule out steam? If your getting it when the engine warms i would have thought with the hissing that would point to steam and possibly a slight water leak or something similar, if it is steam from a leak you need to keep a very close eye on that temp gauge! Get it sorted a.s.a.p by yourself or a local garage.

is it coming from the engine bay area? Is it definately smoke and not steam?

Not sure if it has a genuine alternator belt, do you think a new genuine belt would be worth a try if i can't see anything else wrong?
