A blocked or clogged cat can cause issue's of poor running due to the engine inability to expel the exhaust gas properly causing a build up of back pressure... Would have thought the garage would have explored this, maybe you could get them to take the cat off and check it..

Did they say this could be causing the fault?

I know when you get a faulty maf sensor that the vehicle feels under powered all the time, not sure about vagcom not reading the fault.... Did you replace the maf sensor with a vw one or just an after market one, because i have heard of people replacing with the cheaper sensor and still getting the same fault, but when changed with vw one it curing the problem....

are you sure when the cambelt was put back on all the marks were in line? as i know when my mate did mine he used a special locking tool.......

why do you think there placed where they are,its to stop poor peeps like you and me from attempting the fix in the 1st place, ;) i just used some adjustable pliars to muller them,MAKE SURE you have the correct size jubilee clips before you start the job or your be fubared :) Cheers m8

Whats the best tool to get to get the things off?

So annoyed, was all set to do the pump today... One of the clip has been put on in such awkward position too....couldn't have made it any harder to get off if they tried...

Just lost loads of skin myself trying to get the clips off, only had a rubbish pair of pliers to do it with, so didn't manage too do it which really pee'd me off, so i'll guess i'll try again tomorrow when and if i can get the right tool to do the job......

I know you say this problem goes when dipping the clutch but..... Check to see if the plastic engine cover under the Gal isn't flapping about..

I'm with sparky paul and Mirez on this one don't make do with a repair that if goes wrong could be very dangerous..... go on the parts find network and pick a 2nd hand one up...

Yeah have to admit the fuel computer part temps me too....

Mirez, are you running 18's and lowered with gmax by 50mm? do you get any tyre rubbing when fully loaded?
